Sodiq Yusuff Form Prior to UFC Fight Night 230

Sodiq Yusuff has won eight of his last nine bouts, including two straight after a difficult loss to Arnold Allen. He comes in after a year-long layoff to fight Edson Barboza. The Nigerian-American is ranked #11 among UFC Featherweights. Yusuff has never fought more than three rounds, and this is a five-round fight on Saturday night.

Yusuff can entertain with the best of them or grind things out. His fights typically are far from dull. One of the biggest aspects of the Jiu-Jitsu master’s repertoire is his guillotine submission move. Five of his past six knockouts have come from punches as Yusuff’s power has caught up to his 145-pound frame. His strikes and accuracy of that of a top-five fighter, and that 52.3% accuracy rate is pretty good also.

Now, the temptation to bet on a decision (+190 at FanDuel) again has some merit. One slight weakness is that older fighters with experience tend to muck a fight considerably. Edson Barboza has that ability, even at 37. On the other hand, Yusuff can put enough punches together to take the Brazilian out.

Edson Barboza Form Prior to UFC Fight Night 230

Edson Barboza is a kickboxer with a 75-inch reach. Again, his ground attack still can be somewhat formidable, mostly from his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo styles. Barboza carries a .500 record in his six fights as a featherweight. He did come off a KO by knee against Billy Quarantillo in mid-April. That bout lasted 157 seconds and earned Barboza the Performance Of The Night.

Looking at the KO/TKO in Round 1-3 at +310 on FanDuel is interesting. The aging Brazilian is on the tail end of his UFC career. He ranks #13 among Featherweights and did lose twice in a row convincingly before that stunning first-round knockout. If he is going to win, it will likely be early and not by decision. That fourth or fifth-round knockout delivers at +1200 but is a haymaker of a risk.

Unfortunately, the chances of a win by decision are not very likely nor appealing here. Again, can Barboza keep Yusuff off of him with his reach advantage of four inches? The speed of Yusuff might offset that, and that means Barboza likely must go for the power. That early knockout by either fighter at +700 is a possibility via FanDuel. Again, this is about wagering smart.

Sodiq Yusuff vs. Edson Barboza UFC Predictions & UFC Odds

We’ve put together the UFC best bets from our UFC picks for this weekend’s Fight Night card from the best online betting sites for UFC odds.

UFC Best Bet #1: Sodiq Yusuff by KO/TKO (+240) at FanDuel

The hard part is taking the decision part out of the equation completely. The Featherweight knows his opponent is going to go for a knockout. Now, the chances Yussuff can catch Barboza leaning in are higher than usual. Consider that Barboza is 37 and may have lost a step or two. That figures to see a higher-temp as well. It is why Yusuff does not have to worry about his reach disadvantage. UFC fight night best bets

like this as an option because Barboza has to take the fight to Yusuff, not the other way around..

Another reason to go for the KO/TKO is easy. For perspective, attacking a -165 to -178 moneyline is not the best thing one can do with their money. Could the numbers slide back a little by Saturday? That answer feels like a no. Hence, Yusuff vs. Barboza UFC Predictions

angle for the Maryland fighter to take down his opponent.

⭐ UFC Picks: Sodiq Yusuff by KO/TKO (+240) at FanDuel

UFC Best Bet #2: Edson Barboza By KO Rounds 1-3 (+310) at FanDuel

Now, the stamina of Edson Barboza has been called into question as a featherweight. The Brazilian got a little lucky in his last fight. However, those powerful knees saved the day a mere 157 seconds into Round 1. Can his punching power catch Yusuff (who has not fought in a year) off guard?

Now, these two have never fought or even sparred against each other. That might aid Barboza, too. Yusuff vs. Barboza UFC Predictions ponders the idea that Barboza could even win in the first two rounds. That comes in at +430 on FanDuel.

Some experts believe this may be it for Barboza. So, win or lose, he wants to go out in a blaze of glory. He has not defeated anyone inside the top 12 in the featherweight division. With Barboza wanting to go for power, these UFC fight night best bets see a juicy but dangerous wager here.

⭐ UFC 293 Picks: Edson Barboza By KO Rounds 1-3 (+310) at FanDuel

UFC Best Bet #3: Go Under 2.5 Rounds (+110) at BetMGM

What is the most likely outcome for Saturday night? One of them may be this fight does not last very long at all. Even Yusuff does not want to go more than three rounds. This will be close, but the thinking is that someone is going to get caught in a position they cannot get out of. Also, this might happen quickly.

Again, for both, a convincing win is probably more paramount. Therefore, UFC Fight Night best bets see a chance here. The Under 2.5 Rounds is +110 at BetMGM , and if someone gets knocked out in the first 90 seconds of Round 3, the bet is still a winner.

The idea is to bet modestly here. This Yusuff vs. Barboza UFC Prediction  tends to a quick and early outcome on Saturday.

UFC Picks: Go Under 2.5 Rounds (+110) at BetMGM

Sodiq Yusuff vs. Edson Barboza UFC Predictions & Final Thoughts

This Las Vegas main event on Saturday night has some considerable uncertainty. Some clamor for the unlikely upset. Yusuff knows this can be a springboard to some top-ten fights in 2024. That is why UFC fight night predictions like Yusuff by a knockout.

Furthermore, Barboza wants to push the pace, too, because he believes he can catch a possibly rusty Yusuff. That helps our UFC picks on the Barboza KO/TKO. Pace helps us hopefully with that Under of 2.5 Rounds on Saturday night. Expect some unexpected here.

Yusuff will get inside and use his combinations to take out Barboza on Saturday night.
