Reviews of the Best NFL Betting Apps

Caesars Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV, IL, MD, NJ, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV, WY, DC
  • iPhone Rating: 4.7/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.3/5 stars

The Caesars Sportsbook app offers several excellent features, including NFL live streaming, Firebets, and an absurd number of odds boosts. In partnership with Genius Sports, Caesars Sportsbook offered live streaming on select NFL games during the 2023-24 season. We’re anticipating it will be available this upcoming season.

Firebets is a feature that promotes micro-betting (markets that are available for a short time). You can monitor a particular game and, in the NFL, wager the result of the next play, the type of play, and more.

Caesars Sportsbook also sets itself apart from the competition by offering dozens of odds boosts daily across all sports, including the NFL. No other NFL betting app provides the depth of odds boosts Caesars offers.

When you have an option that offers live streaming of NFL games and dozens of daily odds boosts, it’s hard to argue that this isn’t atop the list of NFL betting apps. Of all betting sites, no other site has access to live streaming the sport like Caesars does.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Odds boosts
  • Welcome bonus
  • User interface design
Cons
  • Lacking long-term existing player promotions

What Our Users are Saying

  • "Noticed great improvements on app from past few updates. No crashes and pretty smooth. Also noticed more early cashout options but reluctant to give 5 [stars] right now cause it took them forever to fix it and can easily go back." (Aug. 3, App Store)
  • "Awesome site, lots of game props. Easy to use." (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)

BetMGM Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, IN, IA, IL, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, MS, NV, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, VA, WA, WV, WY, DC
  • iPhone Rating: 4.8/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.4/5 stars

The BetMGM Sportsbook app offers players excellent parlay-building tools, promotions, and ways to edit wagers. The Easy Parlay page streamlines the entire process of building NFL parlays, and pre-built Same Game Parlays are also available for all NFL games.

Regarding editing wagers, yes, Edit My Bet allows you to edit the wagers you make before they begin, whether it’s one in a parlay, the bet amount, and more. Parlays are a volatile betting market, but this is a popular market with the NFL and the broad fan appeal.

The BetMGM app has tools and features built-in that help support that process unlike any other. A bonus feature we like is the Lion’s Boost, which are daily promotions that allow you to boost the odds of your wager.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Massive welcome bonus
  • Parlay building tools
  • Easy-to-use mobile app
Cons
  • Rewards program not accessible to new players

What Our Users are Saying

  • "I would rate them the best for customer support and layout wise." (Aug. 25, App Store)
  • "Really easy to use and pays on time!" (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)
  • "Out of all the betting apps BetMGM has the best interface best theme and it's not complicated it's easy to find your way around the app and find exactly what your looking for!...oh and I like the app icon" (Aug. 19, Google Play Store)

DraftKings Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, NC, NH, NJ, OH, OR, PA, TN, VA, VT, WV, WY, DC
  • iPhone Rating: 4.8/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.6/5 stars

The DraftKings Sportsbook app is one of the best NFL betting apps as it provides depth to player props unlike any other platform. Beyond this, there’s DK Social, which allows you to engage in betting groups with friends to exchange ideas.

The welcome DraftKings Sportsbook promo is exceptionally new-player-friendly. The promotions don’t stop at the welcome bonus, though, as the DraftKings app routinely offers short-term promotions that target the NFL and the home teams in your state.

You can also play daily fantasy football rather seamlessly, linking directly to DFS on the DraftKings app.

It’s safe to assume that many NFL bettors have either played fantasy football or the DraftKings DFS platform in the early 2010s. Its depth of player props allows you to channel that love for that game and secure multiple sources of bonus bets.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Extensive player props
  • Accessible welcome bonus
  • Numerous additional promotions
  • DK Social
Cons
  • Lacking some customer support methods

What Our Users are Saying

  • "If you want to drink beer and bet football, [you're] home" (Aug. 25, App Store)
  • "Excruciatingly clunky design. Very slow to process any button press. Great quantity of lines available, though. Very slow to grade player props." (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)

FanDuel Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, CT, IL, TN, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, VT, WV, WY, DC
  • iPhone Rating: 4.9/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.6/5 stars

If you’re new to betting on the NFL, the FanDuel Sportsbook app might be the spot for you. The Betting 101 guide walks you through the ins and outs of NFL betting with text and video content, including the betting markets and industry jargon.

Other features, like Parlay HUB, allow you to sort through various options for adding to parlays based on your preferences for odds and type of bet.

As a player here, you can also access FanDuel TV, which provides betting content for insights and entertainment.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Betting 101 Guide
  • Parlay HUB tool
  • Welcome bonus
  • Existing player promotions
Cons
  • No loyalty rewards for NFL betting

What Our Users are Saying

  • "Great sports app! Easy to understand. Easy deposits/withdrawals. I don't use anything but FanDuel!! Best around!" (Aug. 25, App Store)
  • "could load a little faster" (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)
  • "Easiest to use of all the apps.!" (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)

Fanatics Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, NC, OH, TN, VA, WV, CT, MA, NJ, NY, PA, VT, WY
  • iPhone Rating: 4.7/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.7/5 stars

The Fanatics Sportsbook app has a feature that no competitor will ever be able to pull off, and that’s because of the online retail brand associated with it. Here, you’ll be able to earn FanCash

This is a form of currency you earn as you make wagers and receive a percentage of it back. FanCash can be used to redeem bonus bets or to purchase jerseys from the Fanatics online retailer.

Beyond this, there are other highlights like Featured Parlays, which show the most commonly wagered on parlays on the platform.

You can also track withdrawals with their withdrawal tracker so you’ll never be confused about where your money is when you make a withdrawal.

The FanCash rewards program instantly makes it a top NFL betting app in my book.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Rewards program
  • Extensive welcome bonus
  • Withdrawal tracker tool
Cons
  • No desktop platform

What Our Users are Saying

  • "I will NOT be biased...[DraftKings] is my favorite sports betting app/experience, BUT, Fanatics Sportsbook is most DEF MY #1B to their #1A. Good promos and boosts. Plus very helpful customer service that helped me during a tough incident last NFL season" (Aug. 25, App Store)
  • "Literally the best Sportsbook betting app available hands down . Love this app. Only app I really use. Blazing fast withdrawals they don't even review your payouts like other apps. Knowing you can have trust in a app and feel like your safe using is also great. Thanks Fanatics for this app." (Aug. 25, Google Play Store)

bet365 Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, NJ, IA, CO, KY, IN, LA, NC, VA, OH, PA
  • iPhone Rating: 4.8/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.6/5 stars

The bet365 Sportsbook app has several hit features, but the ones that stand out most to me are the early payout offers, the edit bet feature, and the choice of welcome bonuses

Early cashouts are available for the NFL, allowing your wagers to be cashed out immediately once the team you bet on leads by a specific amount. If you’ve watched even one NFL game, you’ll know how up and down they can be.

With the early cash-out promotions, being able to settle a wager before the final seconds tick off the clock can certainly add more funds to your bankroll and allow you to avoid the innate volatility of NFL scoring.

Finally, like BetMGM, you can edit your wagers before they begin. This is a massive feature as game-time decision injuries are announced frequently, and having this feature could save plenty of money.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Multiple welcome bonuses
  • Extensive additional promotions
  • Easy-to-navigate user interface
Cons
  • User interface design aesthetic

What Our Users are Saying

  • "WHAT AN AMAZING APP! So many promos!" (Aug. 14, App Store)
  • "Best bets and deals in the game!" (Aug. 15, Google Play Store)

BetRivers Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, DE, IL, IN, LA, MD, MI, NJ, PA, VA, WV
  • iPhone Rating: 4.6/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.5/5 stars

The BetRivers Sportsbook app provides a live betting user interface that goes in-depth in ways you didn’t know you needed: Statistics.

The statistics you can access here make live betting a more strategic and thoughtful process, as you can access important stats from before the game and in-game stats while it’s in progress. Live betting is also an excellent way to hedge your pre-game wagers and the available statistics here provide ample insights to make educated live NFL wagers.

On the BetRivers app, you’ll also notice House Specials, another term used for odds boosts. These are few and far between in my experience, but when they’re available, they add a lot of value.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Excellent live betting interface
  • House Specials
  • Rewards Program
Cons
  • Welcome bonus offers less monetary value than some competitors

What Our Users are Saying

  • "On top of usually winning on the app, their customer service is top notch. The live chat button is super easy to find, and I was helped quickly by Samuel. Samuel was phenomenal, and assisted quickly and even went so far as to look for other bonuses I might be able to receive. Someone give him a raise." (Aug. 23, App Store)
  • "Customer service is excellent, payouts are quick and reliable." (Aug. 23, Google Play Store)

Hard Rock Bet App

  • States Available: AZ, FL, IN, NJ, TN, OH, VA
  • iPhone Rating: 4.9/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.8/5 stars

I love the overall user interface and the Flex Parlay tool with the Hard Rock Bet app. The interface is uniquely stylized, and I always turn on dark mode

In terms of the top features of Hard Rock Bet’s app, the Flex Parlay tool allows a new way to bet on parlays in that you can make as many selections as you want and wager on how many of those you think will win. For example, if you make five selections, you can bet that any two will win, and the odds will reflect your choice.

The Flex Parlay feature allows for a unique way to bet on the NFL. Games in the NFL can go in so many different ways, so having the option of selecting games and picking how many you think will win allows you to make new choices and not rely on every leg to win.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Stylized user interface design
  • Unique betting features
  • Accessible welcome bonus
Cons
  • Lower-value welcome bonus

What Our Users are Saying

  • "Impressive app and features and dynamics" (Aug. 24, App Store)
  • "I love the app and the choice for alt lines as well as the SGP MAX!" (Aug. 26, Google Play Store)

ESPN BET Sportsbook App

  • States Available: AZ, CO, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, NC, NJ, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV
  • iPhone Rating: 4.8/5 stars
  • Android Rating: 4.4/5 stars

The ESPN BET app is still (relatively) one of the new betting sites available on mobile. With the ESPN branding, you’ll find numerous promotions associated with the personalities there, in addition to the welcome ESPN BET promo code for new users.

The ESPN BET app does an excellent job of suggesting betting markets based on your betting history.

ESPN BET Sharing is a small feature, but it’s been incredibly convenient for me to copy the bet and send it to a friend, who can quickly bet on it.

I also can’t understate the excellence of the user interface design and the accessibility of the welcome bonus.

Lastly, it’s minor, but my favorite thing about the app is one betting market that allows you to bet on a player not scoring a touchdown. The usual prop is an Any Time TD, so being able to bet on a player not scoring one is a small addition, but something I've seen no other NFL betting app offered.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • No touchdown scored betting prop
  • Promotions linked to ESPN personalities
  • User Experience
Cons
  • No live streaming

What Our Users are Saying

  • "Surprised to see that the app is solid." (Aug. 19, App Store)
  • "My previous review wasnt good. But i like espn bet, and im not having problems with them anymore. They are back to being good to me. I hope they are good for everyone else too." (Aug. 24, Google Play Store)

How We Rate NFL Betting Apps

To understand why we rank NFL betting apps the way we do here at Gambling.com, it’s important to understand the key criteria we use.

User Experience

For me, being able to quickly scope out the customer support, registration/login buttons, betting markets, where to deposit, and promotions is key to a positive user experience.

Betting Markets

The more the merrier. Being able to bet on the NFL in numerous ways makes for a fantastic experience.

Odds & Payouts

The NFL is such a competitive market, so finding advantages with odds can be difficult. That’s why it’s always worth shopping around. Utilizing promotional boosts is another way to make wagers that have advantageous odds.

Bonuses

Welcome bonuses create a good first impression, and betting promotions after that make for an experience that goes beyond just getting that welcome bonus.

I examine each offer and analyze the pros and cons for each for all types of players, from beginners to veterans. Check out the latest NFL betting promos before you get started.

Customer Support

The most common methods are live chat, phone, and email. No matter the sport, the best sports betting apps should have all of these options.

With customer support, I test each method to ensure the representatives are helpful and that the FAQ section answers questions in detail.

Security

All NFL betting apps I review are licensed and regulated, but I look for features like two-factor authentication and facial recognition, as well.

Key Features to Look for in NFL Betting Apps

The choices NFL betting apps make regarding features can either set them apart from everyone else or hold them back mightily.

Below is a short list of features you should look for when browsing NFL betting apps.

  • User Interface: As I mentioned above, quickly locating everything on an NFL betting app is vital. Next time you go on an app, try this: Open the app and see if you can find all of the features I listed without scrolling.
  • Betting Options: See what’s beyond moneyline, point spread, and total bets. I look for player props and how deep that market is.
  • Odds Quality: Whenever I’m about to wager, I compare the odds across multiple sportsbooks to see which has the best value.
  • Mobile Compatibility: We’re always on the go, so not only does a sportsbook need a mobile app, but it needs to have an extraordinary app, including the aesthetic, software, and functionality.
  • Security: Look for NFL betting apps with facial recognition and two-factor authentication security services.
  • Customer Support: I like an in-depth FAQ section and accessible live chat. Browse these sections to see how detailed they are and how the representatives treat you.
  • Bonuses: This is all subjective. What you may be OK with will differ from mine and often depends on your budget. I prefer bonuses that award bonus bets after making a specific bet amount.

How to Sign Up for Football Betting Apps

Signing up at the top NFL betting apps is always a breeze. While there are some minor differences, I can confidently tell you that these processes are always more or less the same.

Below, I’ll walk you through what you can expect when creating an account.

  1. Claim Bonuses: Before downloading an app, be sure to click or tap one of the banners on this page to create an account and claim a welcome offer.
  2. Download App: Head to the appropriate app store and download the NFL betting apps you want to use.
  3. Create Account: Open the app and, if you haven’t already, register for an account. During the process, you’ll need to provide information such as your name, date of birth, and address. Be sure to use our promo code, if applicable.
  4. Verify Identity: At some NFL betting apps, you may need to provide proof of your identity. This is for verification purposes only.
  5. Make a Deposit: If you’ve claimed a welcome bonus, make a deposit with consideration to the requirements of the offer and how much you want to wager on your first bet.

Where Can You Use Legal Football Betting Apps?

Over half of the United States allows legal NFL betting apps.

Below, I’ll provide list of the legal betting states where you can bet on the NFL online:

Banking Options with NFL Betting Apps

If it’s difficult to deposit or withdraw funds from an NFL betting app, that’s a red flag, and you should consider downloading and using a different app. However, this shouldn’t be an issue with any of the NFL betting apps I reviewed above.

Below is a list of methods I routinely encounter when using NFL betting apps:

Payment TypesExamples
Debit CardsMastercard, Visa
Credit CardsMastercard, Visa, Discover, AMEX

What to Bet on with NFL Betting Apps

Bet Types Available on NFL Betting Apps

If you’re ready to bet on the NFL, you’re in luck. There are numerous ways to bet on the most popular sport in America, and below, I’ll give a detailed look at each.

  • Moneyline: Wager on the team you think will win the game outright.
  • Point SpreadThe point spread is a number used to illustrate the gap in power between teams while attempting to make them equal. For example, if a team is -6, they’re favored by six points and considered the favorite. So, if you pick this team and they win 21-14, they cover the spread and you win your bet. However, if they win 20-17, the wager would lose as the winning margin is less than 6.
  • Totals (Over/Under): Place a wager on the combined number of points scored in a game. You can choose whether the final score exceeds or falls short of the line provided.
  • Parlays: A parlay combines multiple wagers into one bet slip. All bets added must win for a parlay to settle as a win. So, if you combine three moneyline bets, all those teams must win. If even one bet loses, the entire parlay loses. Because of this added risk, you can enjoy longer NFL odds
  • Teasers: In the NFL, a popular teaser is the six-point teaser. This allows you to manipulate spreads or totals in your favor by six points at the cost of some betting odds value.
  • NFL Futures: Bet on events that are resolved later in the season, such as the Super Bowl, conference championships, MVP, and more.
  • NFL Player Props: Props for NFL betting include game, team, and player props. Player props are the most popular, as they allow you to wager on things such as Patrick Mahomes’ passing yards in a game or Derrick Henry’s rushing yards.
  • Live Bets: Wager on games in progress. These markets include all of those mentioned above, but the odds change as the game unfolds.

Responsible Gambling with Football Betting Apps

While I discussed numerous features, banking methods, and promotions above, nothing matters more than playing responsibly. Below, I’ll outline a few of the responsible gambling features you can access at the best NFL betting apps.

  • Setting Limits: You can set time, deposit, and spending limits on yourself.
  • Self-Exclusion: You can remove yourself from playing at NFL betting apps for an extended period.
  • Support Resources: The best NFL betting apps will provide resources to local and national organizations to assist you or someone you know who is experiencing problematic gambling.

Our Final Verdict on NFL Betting Apps

Now that I’ve given you a complete and comprehensive outlook on NFL betting apps, I want you to leave with one key takeaway: Follow what you enjoy most.

Remember, these are my rankings based on certain criteria, but you have your own opinions and sensibilities, so listen to those.

I encourage you to return to this guide to help you analyze and review NFL betting apps you’re considering playing.
