Oscars Betting 2026: Buckley And Chalamet Odds-On To Win First Academy Awards

Ryan Coogler's movie Sinners was the big story of this year's Academy Awards nominations after becoming the most‑nominated film of all time with 16 nods.
However, it looks set to miss out on wins in the main categories, as the odds on betting sites suggest.
Conan O'Brien will present the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, but which movie will take home Best Picture?
One Battle After Another Heading For Oscars Victory
Despite dominating the nominations, vampire flick Sinners may have a horror show in the Best Picture category - because One Battle After Another is odds-on favourite to defeat it.
The Paul Thomas Anderson-directed action thriller is 4/11 with William Hill to win this year's Best Picture prize at the Oscars, with Sinners languishing behind at 7/2 with most betting apps.
With just over six weeks to go until the big night, the gap may yet shorten - but it wouldn't be a surprise if it grew.
One Battle After Another has been the toast of Hollywood already this year, scooping Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards, and the Best Picture prize at the Critics' Choice Awards just a week earlier.
All signs point to another victory in the field for One Battle, but Hamnet has an outside chance.
The drama movie is priced at 14/1 with Bet365 to win Best Picture, but is as short as 7/1 with other bookmakers.
However, One Battle After Another looks likely to score a Best Picture and Best Director double.
Anderson is just 1/10 with BoyleSports to land the filmmaker gong, but is as short as 1/20 elsewhere.
It could be double disappointment on the night for Sinners' Coogler, who is a 12/1 longshot with Ladbrokes, while Hamnet director Chloe Zhao is 16/1.
Buckley's First Academy Award?
While Hamnet may not win Best Picture or Best Director, the movie appears to have the Best Actress accolade in the bag.
Hamnet's leading lady Jessie Buckley is just 1/14 with William Hill to win her first-ever Academy Award.
Buckley has scooped numerous prizes already this year, including Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama at the Golden Globes, and she landed the Best Actress accolade at the Critics' Choice Awards.
She beat off competition from Rose Byrne for the latter, while the If I Had Legs I'd Kick You actress won Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Globes.
However, like at the Critics' Choice Awards, Byrne finds herself back in a category alongside Buckley, and she is a 10/1 outsider to defeat her awards season rival.
There is closer competition in the Best Actor category - but it still appears to be Timothee Chalamet's Academy Award to lose.
The Marty Supreme star is the 1/4 favourite to land his first-ever Oscar, but as low as 1/5 in most places.
His nearest rival is veteran star and former Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, who is 11/2 with Bet365 to win the prize for One Battle After Another.
He has already tasted several Best Actor defeats to Chalamet, including at this year's Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards.
The Secret Agent's Wagner Moura won Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama at the Globes, and he's a 10/1 outsider to scoop the Best Actor accolade at the upcoming Oscars.
Taylor Vs Madigan
If DiCaprio does miss out, One Battle After Another should be victorious in the Best Supporting Actress category - thanks to hot favourite Teyana Taylor.
She is the 2/5 frontrunner, after winning Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture at the Globes, but she lost out at the Critics' Choice Awards.
Taylor was defeated by Weapons star Amy Madigan in the Best Supporting Actress category, and it wouldn't be a surprise if the actress reversed the Golden Globes form at this year's Oscars.
Madigan is 4/1 to win the accolade, and Sentimental Value's Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas is a 10/1 outsider.
Despite this, Sentimental Value could be represented in the winners' list thanks to iconic actor Stellan Skarsgard.
He is 8/11 favourite to win the Best Supporting Actor gong.
He faces strong competition from several other Hollywood icons, including One Battle After Another duo Sean Penn (9/2) and Benicio Del Toro (6/1).
Frankenstein star Jacob Elordi is also a single-figure price, at 9/1, but it will be a tough task to overcome the legendary trio.
