Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: 2 Selections For Boxing Day

The Panel are delighted to have Rhys Williams as part of our team of racing tipsters.
Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
His profit and loss stands at -17.65 points from 49.0 points staked, with returns of 31.35 points.
Here are Rhys' tips for Boxing Day, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
12:45 Kempton: Barlovento - 1pt Each-Way @ 5/1
Noble Park heads the market for this novices’ handicap chase as he aims to make it a hat-trick over fences but I think there has to be a concern over him returning to a right-handed track given the way he jumped to his left at Hereford.
U Cant Be Serious beat Barlovento at Exeter on their chasing debuts but I think the latter has a strong chance of reversing that form on much better terms today and can gain a first victory over fences.
Barlovento was held up at the back of the field at Exeter and his jumping took a little while to warm up.
He was shaken along and only had one rival behind him turning into the home straight but he made up plenty of ground going to four out and continued that progress to go to the front jumping two out.
However, he looked a bit idle in front and ran around and was caught late on by the rallying U Cant Be Serious.
It may have been that the ease with which Barlovento made up the ground in the home straight surprised Bowen and he got to the front sooner than expecting so it could be that the plan in this race will be to delay his challenge a bit more.
This is a tougher test of jumping than Exeter but I’m hoping that Barlovento will have learned from that experience and will be sharper in the early stages this time.
I think there could be a fair bit more to come from him and any 4/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 1: 12:45 Kempton - Barlovento - 1pt Each-Way

13:05 Aintree: Storming George - 0.5pts Each-Way @ 20/1
I think they might be missing a trick not using the opening mark of 127 for Storming George but I’m hoping the boldness that connections have shown in going for the Formby will be rewarded at a big price.
He put up a taking performance on debut in a bumper last season and followed that with a very good run at Aintree in the Grade 2 bumper despite the ground being quicker than ideal.
Storming George returned to action this season for his hurdling debut at Newbury and put up a good display in defeat behind Captain Hugo and Sinnatra while running as though the race was needed a little.
He had little to beat last time and did so in facile fashion.
They got the ground that day that I think he wants and while it is a bit concerning that it could dry out a bit beforehand, he may get suitable conditions once again in this race.
It could be that he’s not quite up to the level of a couple of these and maybe he will need a bit further in time to show his best.
However, I think the market is overlooking his potential based on his rating and any 14/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 1: 13:05 Aintree - Storming George - 0.5pts Each-Way
