Fourth Ashes Test Odds: BoyleSports Boosts Head To 4/1 For First-Innings Runs

As the post-mortem into England's Ashes defeat continues, the players have two Tests to restore some much-needed pride.

Melbourne's MCG will host the fourth Test, also known as the Boxing Day Test, and a number of England players are playing for their futures.

Before the first ball was bowled, former bowler Glenn McGrath stood by his now traditional series score prediction of 5-0, which is 4/5 with BoyleSports, who are offering new customers £30 in free bets plus a £10 casino bonus when they bet £10.

As for the fourth Test, England are 12/5 to make it 3-1, while the hosts are 4/9 to continue their domination, with the draw 10/1

Travis Head And Shoulders Above The Rest

It's no surprise to see two Australians top of the runs chart through the first three Tests.

Travis Head has batted majestically and arrives in Melbourne with 379 runs scored, thanks to a brilliant 170 in the second innings at Adelaide.

That knock took the Test - and the series - away from the tourists, and ensured that Australia retained the Ashes with two matches to play.

It was Head's second century of the series and he will hope to be the leading run scorer when the final ball is bowled.

Head has been boosted from 10/3 to 4/1 to be Australia's top batter in the first innings at the MCG, while Alex Carey is 11/2 to carry on his impressive run of good form.

Carey was named player of the match in Adelaide after following up his first innings score of 106 with a patient 72 from 128 balls.

Marnus Labuschagne has registered a couple of half-centuries and he is 9/2 to outscore his team-mates in the first innings.

For the beleaguered visitors, Joe Root leads the way, having landed in Australia being reminded that he had never raised his bat to celebrate a century down under.

However, he emphatically ended that narrative with an unbeaten 138 in the first innings of the second Test in Brisbane.

Root is England's leading run scorer with 219 runs and he is 7/2 to score more for England than any of his team-mates, while Harry Brook is next at 4/1.

Mitch Has Been Pitch Perfect

Mitchell Starc has been the pick of the bowlers for either team in this series with 22 wickets taken in the first three Tests, at an average of just 17.04.

Starc has dismissed every batter sent to the crease by England with the exception of Josh Tongue, who was drafted in for the third Test in Adelaide.

Joe Root, Jamie Smith and England captain Ben Stokes have each been dismissed three times by the fast bowler, who might have a target of 35 to reach in this series.

Starc is 9/4 to be Australia's leading wicket taker in the first innings in Melbourne, with Scott Boland next.

Australia will be without Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon for the remainder of the series, so Boland can expect to bowl a lot more in the hope of adding to his 11 wickets.

For England, Ben Carse has been the pick of the bowlers, with 11 wickets to his name. Carse is 7/2 to be England's leading wicket taker.

Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue are both 3/1 to be the pick of the England bowlers in Melbourne this week.
