Arsenal Have One Hand On Title According To Supporter Survey Study

A new supporter survey conducted by Gambling.com across 1,000 Premier League fans suggests Arsenal could be on the brink of Premier League glory this season.

The data, gathered for our weekly football show That’s Offside, asked fans a host of key questions about the title race, managerial security, relegation battles and refereeing standards.

Respondents came from 15 different Premier League clubs, providing a broad cross-section of supporter views.

According to the results, more than half of fans believe Mikel Arteta’s side will top the table in May.

When it comes to relegation and the managerial sack race, opinions are mixed, although one boss stands out above the rest.

The full breakdown of fan opinion paints a compelling picture of how supporters see the season unfolding.

Below, we take a look at the results and the best odds you can get on betting sites for both a title win and relegation.

Arsenal Firmly Backed For Premier League Glory

Arsenal were the overwhelming favourites to win the Premier League in this season’s survey, with 52% of respondents backing the Gunners to lift the title.

That placed them well clear of Manchester City on 29% and Chelsea on 7%, while Aston Villa mustered just 1% of the vote.

These figures underscore the belief among fans that Arteta’s squad has the consistency and depth needed to finally secure the title.

Arsenal were also the most commonly selected team to finish in the top four, with 93% of supporters including them in their predictions.

In contrast, Liverpool and Manchester United lagged behind in some key categories, reflecting differing expectations among their fan bases.

Even among top-four predictions, Arsenal and City dominated, with Chelsea also widely chosen.

Meanwhile, when asked which teams are likely to be relegated, fans pointed most strongly at Wolverhampton Wanderers (67%) and Burnley (63%).

Leeds United (40%) and West Ham (38%) also drew significant mentions.

The survey results highlight how supporter sentiment aligns with on-pitch form and league position as the season enters the busy festive period.

Slot Still Fan Favourite To Be Sacked Next

Despite a five-game unbeaten run, a surprising result from the survey was that Liverpool boss Arne Slot topped the list of managers fans think will be next to lose their job.

Slot was selected by 24% of respondents, ahead of Rob Edwards (20%) and Thomas Frank (14%).

For many fans, recent unbeaten results may not be enough to quell pressure over expectations and recent dips in performance.

The survey seems to suggest that the Dutchman may not last until the end of the season, particularly if the inconsistent performances return.

Only 8% of fans believe Manchester United's Ruben Amorim will be next to go, while just 4% pointed at Leeds United's Daniel Farke as potentially leaving his role soon.

A handful of managers at other clubs, including Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery, were also mentioned, albeit in very small numbers.

The data highlights the intense scrutiny and pressure that managers face in the Premier League environment, and how easily supporters can turn against them during a bad spell of results.

Top Four Tussle

Supporters were also asked which teams they expect to finish in the Premier League’s top four this season, and the results showed that the usual suspects are likely to be battling it out.

Arsenal (93%) and Manchester City (88%) were near-unanimous choices, with Chelsea (73%) also heavily backed to secure a Champions League place.

Liverpool appeared less convincing to fans, with just under half (49%) including them in their top-four predictions, while Aston Villa (39%) and Manchester United (26%) trailed further behind.

The responses suggest that, for many supporters, the race for Europe’s elite competition may already be taking shape.

Surprise Support For Refs

Despite ongoing debate around officiating standards, the survey revealed strong underlying faith in Premier League referees and the PGMOL.

Notably, 74% of fans said they still trust the current match officials, suggesting that confidence remains higher than recent headlines might imply.

However, that trust exists alongside scepticism about technology, with 59% of respondents believing the Premier League was better before the introduction of VAR.

The findings highlight contradicting views, where confidence in referees coexists with frustration over how decisions are now reached.

Gambling.com’s latest fan survey demonstrates just how divided opinion can be among Premier League supporters.

Arsenal’s strong backing for the title highlights growing confidence in their campaign, while pressure on managers like Slot shows how quickly sentiment can shift.

With key fixtures still to come and narratives continuing to evolve, the remainder of the season promises to be as compelling off the pitch as it is on it.

Whether fans’ predictions come true remains to be seen, but these results offer a fascinating snapshot of supporter attitudes midway through the campaign.
