Jonas Vingegaard is the favourite for the Yellow Jersey, with many predictions siding with the defending champion.

General Classification Winner 2023: Who Will Win The Yellow Jersey?

Last year, Pogačar was the favourite before the Tour de France began, according to UK bookmakers anyway. But after a fantastic performance, Vingegaard – who was ranked third in the betting beforehand – won the 2022 Tour de France.

So it's no surprise that Vingegaard is now at the forefront of predictions for the overall classification winner of the Tour de France 2023 instead of Pogačar. 

According to both established and new bookmakers, the Yellow Jersey is well within Vingegaard's grasp again, given the low odds of 21/20 for his overall victory.

Even though Pogačar managed to win the white jersey for the best young rider last year, Vingegaard showed why he is the top contender to win the Tour de France in 2023. 

However, according to the latest Tour de France betting offers, the race could still be remarkably close. 

The margin between Vingegaard and Pogačar is very fine, with Bet365 going 23/20 on Pogacar verses their 21/20 price on Vingegaard.

Those odds indicate that Vingegaard has a 48.8% chance of winning while Pogacar is given a 46.5% probability, which indicates just how thrilling the battle for the Yellow Jersey could be this year.

Unlike most editions of the Tour de France, there is no clear third challenger in sight. Jai Hindley is currently listed at odds of 16/1 with BetVictor, which translates to a 5.9% chance. 

The top five in the betting is rounded out by Enric Mas (25/1) and Mattias Skjelmose (33/1), respectively.

Winner of the Young Rider Classification: Who’s Favourite for the White Jersey?

Riders who haven't reached the age of 25 are eligible for the coveted white jersey, awarded to the most prominent young rider in the overall classification. 

In the 2022 TDF, Tadej Pogačar, Thomas Pidcock and Brandon McNulty occupied the top three positions in the battle for this jersey. Pogačar and Pidcock will once again try their luck to claim the white jersey in 2023. 

Carlos Rodríguez, a teammate of Pidcock, has the youngest legs of all participants in the 2023 Tour de France. This Spanish climbing specialist is definitely a rider to watch in the young rider classification.

You’ll find a best price of 8/1 at Betway on Rodríguez to win the White Jersey, but most other bookies offer just slightly less at 15/2.

Another young talent is Danish rider Mattias Skjelmose, who rides for Trek-Segafredo and is also just 22 years old. 

Skjelmose is also an 8/1 shout on betting apps and he showcased his climbing abilities with an impressive second-place finish in the Walloon Arrow.
