The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox square off Thursday in the opener of a four-game series.

This could be an early preview of the American League Championship series.

The first pitch Thursday is at 8:10 p.m. ET.

MLB betting this year is dominated by teams from two cities, New York and Los Angeles.

The New York Yankees have the best record in baseball at 22-8, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers at 20-9.

The next-best records belong to the New York Mets at 21-11 and the 21-12 Los Angeles Angels.

The Yankees have won eight of their last 10 games.

The White Sox got off to terrible start. At one point, they were 8-13, including an eight-game losing streak.

Since then, the White Sox are 8-2, including a 7-2 record in May.

Take The Under In Yankees, White Sox Matchup

The White Sox will send right-hander Dylan Cease to the mound Thursday against the Yankees. Cease is 3-1 in six starts.

The Yankees will hand the ball to right-hander Luis Gil, who is making his first start of the season.

Gil last pitched five innings for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Friday, with nine strikeouts and no walks in an outing at Rochester. He threw 78 pitches.

I am betting the Under, currently priced at 8 runs, -120, at Caesars Sportsbook.

Bet The Phillies Against The Dodgers

The Cleveland Guardians and the Los Angeles Dodgers have played 12 home games, the fewest in the majors to date, but no other team has a better home record than the Dodgers.

Thursday’s game, which begins at 10:10 p.m. ET, is the first of a four-game series between the Dodgers and Phillies.

The Dodgers are 10-2 at home this season and 10-2 on the -1.5 run line, reflecting their domination of visiting teams to Dodger Stadium.

The Phillies will have their ace, Zack Wheeler, on the hill.

Wheeler is in top form, having not allowed an earned run in his last two starts, spanning 13 ⅔ innings. He has received just 14 runs of offensive support in his five games, which is why he has a 1-3 record so far.

Wheeler has allowed only one home run, or 0.25 home runs per start. The Dodgers are just 14-18, losing 16 units per unit wagered on the money line, when facing a starting pitcher who allows .5 or fewer home runs per start in games played over the last two seasons.

I am betting the Philadelphia Phillies on the money line, currently at +127 at Caesars Sportsbook.
