Marlins, Angels Poised To Extend Winning Streaks
The Wednesday Major League Baseball card has two solid betting opportunities. Here they are:
Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals
The Miami Marlins (8-8) have won three straight games away from home and are playing their fifth road game of their six-game road trip.
The Marlins won two of three games against the Atlanta Braves and won the opener of the current three-game series against the Nationals behind another great start by Sandy Alcantara.
The Washington Nationals are in last place (6-13) in the National League East and trail the division-leading New York Mets by eight games.
The Nationals are not playing well right now, and there are no signs the team will turn things around soon.
The team is 9-35 as a home underdog over the last two seasons and 19-50 when priced as an underdog between +110 and +150 during the previous two seasons.
In addition, the Nationals are a terrible 9-27 in home games following two or more consecutive losses over the previous two seasons.
Bet the Fish at -145 on the moneyline.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Cleveland Guardians (7-10, 4-7 road) rank ninth in the league, scoring an average of 4.49 runs-per-game, but have not been able to hold leads and win games.
Now, the Guardians face the tall order of trying to halt a five-game losing skid by taking on the Los Angeles Angels (11-7, 6-5 home) and their ace and best overall player, Shohei Ohtani.
The Guardians are batting .228 and scoring an average of 2.7 runs-per-game against right-handed starters.
The Angels have won three straight games and the first two games of this four-game series against the Guardians.
I like betting the Angels using the -1.5 run line currently priced at +115 juice at the BetMGM Sportsbook.
Spanning the last two seasons, the Angels are a highly profitable 24-11 on the runline when facing an American League Central opponent.
Bet the Angels at -1.5 runline, receiving back +100 money at BetMGM Sportsbook.
