Rhys Williams' Racing Tips: 2 Selections For Wednesday

Horse racing expert Rhys Williams is sharing his best selection for Wednesday's action.

Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair, where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.

He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.

Rhys' tips have returned 363.42 points from 228.0 points staked, meaning his profit and loss record stands at a whopping +135.42pts overall - thanks to a sensational spell that included Lamar Canyon's recent win at 150/1

Here are Rhys' tips for Wednesday, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.

15:30 Carlisle: Wetsand - 0.5pt Win @ 14/1

Wetsand has shown a bit more on her last two starts, and I think she can build on that further in a race that is likely to be well run.

Her form had fallen off a cliff since finishing second at Goodwood last year until showing more at Yarmouth when finishing fifth in a fairly steady run race.

She was stepped up to a mile at Thirsk last time, but the steady early pace was once again against her, and she could only make late headway to finish eighth after being last turning into the home straight.

This race is likely to be a stronger run affair, which could bring improvement.

Given their performances in that race at Thirsk, I think there’s too much between her and Geo in the market.

Any double-figure prices appeal.

Rhys' Selection 1: 15:30 Carlisle: Wetsand - 0.5pt Win

17:35 Carlisle: Mostar Dreams - 0.5pt Win @ 9/1

It looks like there could be plenty of competition for the early lead in this closing handicap, and I think the market is underestimating the chance of Mostar Dreams making a successful late challenge.

She ran consistently well off slightly lower marks for Jim Goldie last season and has since joined Adrian Keatley.

The deep ground can easily excuse her first run for the yard, and she followed that with two good runs on the all-weather.

I think the slow pace suited her when she won over a mile at Newcastle, given her ability over shorter trips, and the much quicker pace over the same trip last time stretched her stamina.

Mostar Dreams showed last year that she’s capable of running to a good level after a break, so the absence isn’t too much of a concern.

While there’s been some early market support for her, I think she’s still overpriced.

Any 7/1 or bigger appeals.

Rhys' Selection 2: 17:35 Carlisle: Mostar Dreams - 0.5pt Win
