Heading into this Hornets vs. Nets prediction, Ball averages 17.5 points per game through the first two games of the season.
However, this has come with a field goal shooting percentage of just 25%. He’s had at least 15 shot attempts in the two games this season. For context, he’s never finished a season with a field goal percentage less than 41.1%. Playing the Nets, Ball will take on a team with the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA at 119.5, allowing 21 points per game off turnovers.

For the second of our NBA Picks, we’re looking at the big man in Oklahoma City, Chet Holmgren, for this Thunder vs. Pistons prediction.
The line here on his points is set at 14.5. This season, Holmgren is averaging 15.3 points per game. He’s shooting 57.1% from the field and 54.5% from three-point range.
He missed all of last season, so this is technically his rookie season. Through three games, he’s gone over 14.5 points in two of them, scoring 19 against Denver and 16 against Cleveland.
The Pistons have played well defensively so far this season, with a rating of 102.7 (sixth in the league). Still, it’s hard to envision that remaining stable. Last season, they were dead last in defensive rating at 117.8.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies Prediction & Odds

Heading into this Mavericks vs. Grizzlies prediction, we like Lively to score eight points or more. Averaging 12.5 points per game, Lively scored 16 in the first game and nine in the second. The Mavericks will want to develop their big man, and he’s more likely to be in a role where he’s coming off the bench playing 25-30 minutes like he did in the first game of the season as opposed to just 17 minutes in their last outing.
