How many wins is each NFL team projected to reach this season? Here are the latest over/under NFL projected win totals for all 32 teams:

How to Bet on NFL Over Under Wins

When selecting a totals wager, you will predict if the final number of wins will be over or under the oddsmaker’s set line.

Essentially, you’re adding the total number of wins a team might get and deciding if you think that amount will be higher or lower than what the oddsmakers have determined it will be.

Futures bets are wagers placed on events that will happen at some point later in the season, not a single game or performance. These are bets on a more significant outcome that has yet to be decided.

Futures odds are typically available before and during the season, but the odds are constantly in flux. They change based on what’s happening in and around the sport, including team performances, roster changes, injuries, etc.

How to Read NFL Win Totals Odds

Odds can be displayed in American (or moneyline), decimal, or fractional formats.  You can change your odds format at most NFL betting sites, depending on your preference.

As the name suggests, American odds are commonly used in the U.S., giving you a triple-digit or higher number with either a minus or plus sign.

The whole American odds (or moneyline odds) system is based on betting $100.

The numbers next to a minus sign (-) tell you how much you must bet to win $100. The plus symbol (+) beside the numbers tells you how much you can win by betting $100.

The negative sign indicates the favourite, while the plus sign points to the underdog.

Why are NFL Win Totals Important?

Win totals are a popular market to study and bet on, since they are a season-long over/under wager.

  • Find Contenders: Teams with a high projected win total are usually considered Super Bowl contenders. Players on high-win-total teams are also likelier to have good statistical seasons.
  • Set Expectations: Win total projections help set team expectations for the season. A team that exceeds its projections is considered overachieving, while teams that underperform often find coaches and front office staff on the hot seat.
  • Strength of Schedule: The final win-loss record for the season helps inform the following season's strength of schedule. Teams playing a lot of over-.500 opponents are considered to have tougher paths to the playoffs.
  • Contract Bonuses: Some contracts, usually for the quarterback and head coach, include incentives tied to team win totals.
