Aleksandar Vukic vs. Yoshihito Nishioka Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

Three of the matches today at the Atlanta Open feature matchups with players ranked inside the top 100. The first is between No 82 Aleksandar Vukic and No. 31 Yoshihito Nishioka; this is the first meeting between the two.

Vukic’s ranking is the highest of his career and marks the first time he has been inside the top 100. He’s 39-22 this season, including a 26-12 record on hard courts. He also has one title this year after winning the Busan Challenger in May which also came on a hard court surface. Before beating Ethan Quinn in the first round (7-6, 6-3), Vukic had mixed results leading up to the Atlanta Open, going 2-3 in his last three tournaments.

Nishioka has been a top 100 player dating back to 2018, but his No. 31 rank is the highest of his career. He’s 13-12 this season and 7-6 on hard courts. Nishioka has previously only played in the grand slams, making it to the fourth round of the French Open before losing in the opening round at Wimbledon. He’s just 1-3 in his last four matches on hard courts but did make it to the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Nishioka is the favorite at -118 on FanDuel Sportsbook over Vukic (+100), and we like Nishioka to win this matchup (-102) at FanDuel as he starts preparations for the U.S. Open. Including his 3-1 mark at the Australian Open, Nishioka also went 3-1 in the hard court Adelaide tournament in Australia, making for a 6-2 record. This showcases his commitment to the surface with grand slams approaching, and we expect similar success for him in this spot.

Best Betting PickNishioka to win (-118) at FanDuel

Thanasi Kokkinakis vs. Alex De Minaur Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

The second matchup with the top 100 players features two Australians with No. 86 Thanasi Kokkinakis facing No. 17 Alex De Minaur. This is the first meeting between the two, with de Minaur the favorite at -250 on BetMGM Sportsbook, while Kokkinakis is at +190.

Kokkinakis overcame Gael Monfils in the first round, winning 1-6, 6-3, 7-6. He had to overcome a 4-0 deficit in the tiebreak to defeat Monfils and advance to the next round. Kokkinakis served eight aces and won 76% of his first points in the win and managed to convert one of two break opportunities.

This will be De Minaur’s first hard-court match after the grass season, where he had numerous strong results. He made it to the finals at ATP London before losing to Carlos Alcaraz, but was eventually upset in the second round at Wimbledon by Matteo Berrettini. De Minaur’s No. 17 ranking is the highest of his career and includes a 22-14 record this season and a 12-6 mark on hard courts. He has one hard-court title, winning ATP Acapulco in March.

We’re backing De Minaur to continue his successful season with a dominant showing over Kokkinakis. We like De Minaur to win 2-0 (+100) at BetMGM, meaning he will win the first two sets. Kokkinakis struggling with an out-of-form Monfils, who was returning from injury highlighted Kokkinakis may struggle with a player of De Minaur’s caliber.

Best Betting Pick: De Minaur to win 2-0 (+100) at BetMGM

Christopher Eubanks vs. Brandon Nakashima Predictions, Odds, Betting Tips

Two of the top Americans are set to face in the final match of the Atlanta Open on Wednesday. No. 32 Christopher Eubanks, who made it to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, will take on No. 58 Brandon Nakashima. Nakashima is the slight favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook at -122, while Eubanks is -102 to win. This is the first time these two will face off against each other.

Eubanks is in the midst of the best stretch of his career. After being ranked as high as 649 early in his career in 2016, he’s up to No. 32 and has won 10 of his last 1 1matches, including a title at ATP Mallorca and the quarterfinal run at Wimbledon. Eubanks carried his success over to Atlanta with a 6-2, 6-4 first-round win over Andres Martin.

It’s been more of a struggle for Nakashima this season, who is just 8-13 in 2023 and 4-5 on hard surfaces. He has lost six of his last eight matches but did manage to advance past Max Purcell in the first round, winning 6-3, 7-6.

Given Eubanks’ recent form and Nakashima’s struggles, Eubanks to win (-102) at FanDuel is our best bet for this match. Nakashima hasn’t made it past the second round of a hard-court tournament this season, and we expect Eubanks to continue his momentum in his hometown tournament.

Best Betting Pick: Eubanks to win (-102) at FanDuel
