Celebrity Apprentice Odds: Thomas Skinner Favourite For Victory

Celebrity Apprentice will return to our screens later this year, to mark the 20th anniversary of BBC business series The Apprentice.

Former EastEnders actor Jake Wood, Strictly Come Dancing star Sarah Hadland, Big Brother host AJ Odudu, and even ex-Apprentice star Thomas Skinner are all expected to be part of this year's Celebrity Apprentice line-up, according to The Sun newspaper.

There's a competitive outright market on betting sites ahead of the series, and it comes after the show previously aired celebrity versions for charity.

In 2007, Lord Sugar's now-advisor Karren Brady triumphed in the first-ever Comic Relief Does The Apprentice series, but journalist Piers Morgan was fired.

A year later, a Sport Relief edition was won by businesswoman Jacqueline Gold, while presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli was fired.

In 2009, Comic Relief Does The Apprentice returned and comedian Alan Carr was fired, with businesswoman Michelle Mone tasting victory.

What's more, Omid Djalili got his marching orders in the 2019 Comic Relief series.

In that season, interior designer Kelly Hoppen led the women's team to victory and won the show.

Businesswomen have won three of the four celebrity specials, but could it be the turn of a businessman this year?

Skinner's Second Chance

Thomas Skinner - known for his "a bosh" catchphrase, and eating Christmas dinners for breakfast down Dino's Café in New Spitalfields Market - is the early 5/4 to win this year's Apprentice.

The businessman has been there and done it, after he competed in the 15th series of the show in 2019, but he didn't quite get hold of Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment.

Thomas made it to episode nine, but he was fired by Lord Sugar, who he is still in touch with.

Skinner became a huge fan favourite after his Apprentice stint, and he has gone on to appear in the likes of 8 Out of 10 Cats and Celebrity MasterChef

Criminal barrister Rob Rinder isn't too far behind Thomas in the outright market. The TV star, who shot to fame in show Judge Rinder, is 6/4 second favourite.

In previously Celebrity Apprentice specials, the candidates have needed outside help from their celeb pals - and Rinder has plenty he could call upon.

They include Hollywood actor Benedict Cumberbatch - who he knows from university - and ex-Big Brother star Rylan Clark.

Strictly Stars In Contention

But if anyone with a Big Brother connection is going to win this year's Celebrity Apprentice, AJ Odudu will be hoping it is her.

The reality TV show's presenter, who also knows Rylan from her work on Big Brother's Bit on the Side, is 13/8 third favourite with betting apps.

AJ is no stranger to Strictly Come Dancing success after progressing to the final in 2021, and she is just ahead of fellow former Strictly competitors Angela Scanlon (2/1), Jake Wood (5/2), Sarah Hadland (3/1) and JB Gill (4/1) in the Celebrity Apprentice outright market.

JLS singer JB might fancy his chances on the BBC show.

He must have some business acumen after previously buying a working farm in Sevenoaks, Kent, with his wife.

What's more, he could call upon some of his fellow JLS singers, Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, and Oritsé Williams, if he needs help from celebrity pals in this year's star-studded Apprentice spin-off.

And he also knows the likes of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Alexandra Burke from his X Factor days.

Lord Sugar To Have Last Laugh

However, if previous Celebrity Apprentice formats are anything to go by Lord Sugar will fire at least one of the stars in the upcoming series.

Comedians haven't tended to do too well on Celebrity Apprentice, and this year may be no different.

Alan and Omid have both been fired in two of the four episodes so far, and that form doesn't look great well for Eddie Kadi and Shazia Mirza.

Shazia is the Evens favourite to be fired first from the series, and Eddie isn't far behind at 7/4.

What's more, BBC Radio 1 DJ Charlie Hedges likes a laugh on her show alongside Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom.

She is just 2/1 to be given her marching orders by Lord Sugar, while Gladiators star Matt Morsia is 11/8 second favourite.

In the BBC show, he plays the character of Gladiator Legend, who can be quite arrogant.

If Matt shows any of his character's side in the boardroom he could soon find himself out of the door.
