Oasis Live 25 Tour Odds: Hello Challenges Acquiesce To Be First Song Played

Oasis' much-anticipated Live 25 Tour is just hours away as Cardiff prepares to welcome the Gallagher brothers tonight.
Around 14 million people attempted to purchase the 1.4 million tickets on offer for the reunited Britpop group's run of gigs, and the atmosphere is sure to be bouncing in the Welsh capital when brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher appear on stage.
Singer Liam has been dropping various hints about the tour on his social media, after he and Noel put aside their differences to reunite.

Oasis' Cardiff show will be the band's first since the siblings had a backstage bust-up at Paris' Rock en Seine festival in 2009.
But what will be the first song they play since that fateful show?
There's plenty of speculation on betting sites, and not much separating three of the rockers' iconic tunes at the top of the market.
They Need Each Other
Acquiesce is the current favourite on betting apps to be the first song played at Oasis' Cardiff show, at Evens with Betfred.
It would be fitting to begin with such a legendary track, on which both Liam and Noel sing.
In the song, Liam sings: "Who wants to be alone when we can feel alive instead?"
Noel then belts out in the chorus: "Because we need each other/We believe in one another."

The song would make perfect sense as the opening tune in Oasis' hotly-anticipated first reunion show, and Liam has hinted that it could be the case.
Earlier this year, a supposed Oasis Live 25 leaked setlist was posted online, and it featured Acquiesce as the opening tune.
One X user shared it with Liam and asked: "Is this setlist official?"
He replied: "It's not far off."

Star Value
However, could the first song value lie elsewhere?
Acquiesce fans recently suffered a hammer blow to their musical hearts when Liam insisted the song isn't part of the reunion tour's Heaton Park gigs, in the band's home city of Manchester.
A supporter asked on social media: "You gonna sing Acquiesce with Noel at the Heaton Park gigs for us Liam?"
But he replied: "That’s not on the list, sorry."
It remains to be seen whether that is the case for all Oasis reunion shows or whether he is bluffing.
But with doubt surrounding Acquiesce, another song could step up.
When a fan asked if Rock 'n' Roll Star will make it, Liam responded: "Getting played."
The tune, which is the opening track on the group's 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe, was 2/1 with Betfred to be the first song played on Oasis' return to the stage, but it has since drifted to 5/1.
This could be the value pick, particularly because Liam said before the reunion was confirmed that the tune would be the first song he would play live if Oasis reunited.
Replying to such a fan question in April 2024, he said: "RNR star".
Hello Again
But if it isn't Acquiesce or Rock 'n' Roll Star, then Hello could get the nod as the Cardiff curtain raiser.
The opening track to second studio album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? is 2/1 to be played first.
There has been some recent speculation that Hello might be axed from the setlist altogether, due to a reference to convicted paedophile Gary Glitter's 1973 hit Hello, Hello, I’m Back Again.
In the tune's outro, Liam sings the line "Hello, hello, it’s good to be back, it’s good to be back," and the original song's melody can be heard underneath.
Because of this, Glitter and record producer Mike Leander have writing credits on the tune, alongside Noel, who penned most of Oasis' tracks.
Despite that, Liam has insisted the song has made the cut.
When asked, he said on X: "We'll be playing HELLO, trust me".
Others in contention include 2/1 shot The Swamp Song, a B-side from the band's 1995 megahit Wonderwall, and Some Might Say which is 6/1.
However, Hey Now!, which appears on (What's the Story) Morning Glory, won't be heard at the reunion gigs.
Liam said on X: "The setlist is done and I'm afraid it didn't make it now don't take it personally and call me hurty names as it's not my fault we can't play them all (sic)"
Champagne Finish?
Champagne Supernova is the 11/8 favourite to be the band's last song in Cardiff.
It is the closing track on (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and was the final song to appear on the recently leaked setlist.
If that section of the setlist is correct, Oasis will play Live Forever (6/4) and Don't Look Back In Anger (7/4) just beforehand.
Either tune would be worthy final tracks in the Welsh capital, with Don't Look Back in Anger particularly fitting given Noel and Liam have put their differences aside for the tour.
Wonderwall (2/1) didn't appear on the leaked setlist, leading to some concerned reactions from die-hard Oasis fans.
Oasis Live 25 Tour Odds: Last Song To Be Performed On July 4th
Song | Odds | Probability |
Champagne Supernova | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Live Forever | 6/4 | 40% |
Don't Look Back In Anger | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Wonderwall | 2/1 | 33.3% |
I Am The Walrus | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Cigarettes & Alcohol | 3/1 | 25% |
Slide Away | 4/1 | 20% |
It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) | 5/1 | 16.7% |
All Around the World | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Morning Glory | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Rock 'N' Roll Star | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Married With Children | 10/1 | 9.1% |
However, Liam and Noel have admitted they aren't huge fans of playing one of the group's most recognisable tunes live.
Despite this, if the song were to sneak onto the setlist, it would surely be closer to the end of the gig than the start.
Just days ago, The Sun newspaper reported that Cigarettes & Alcohol would feature on Oasis' reunion tour.
But will it be the Cardiff outro? It is 3/1 to be, just in front of 4/1 shot Slide Away and 5/1 chance It’s Gettin’ Better (Man!!).
