20:00 Hamilton: It's Debatable - 0.5pt Win @ 13/2
It’s Debatable looks the type who has gradually been learning on the job, and I think he has a good chance of making it third time lucky this evening.
He showed clear signs of greenness on debut at Beverley and seemed to get unbalanced when asked for his effort at the bottom of the hill, but after looking like he might drop right away, he did stay on a bit late on to finish sixth.
His inexperience was still on show, albeit to a lesser extent, last time at Redcar, where his greenness meant he was a little off the leading group early on in a well-run race.
He made some headway to be on the back of that pack three furlongs out, and while he couldn’t go with the impressive winner, he stayed on well to finish fourth.
I think the slight increase in distance and stiff finish will play to It’s Debatable’s strengths, and hopefully he will be sharper in the early stages today too.
He’ll probably want further again in time to be seen at his absolute best, but I think he can challenge the front pair in this and any 9/2 or bigger appeals.
