San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Predictions & Odds 4:10 PM ET
Leading things off, we’ll examine our Dodgers vs. Padres predictions. In this NL West battle, the Dodgers lead the division at 64-46, while the Padres are ten games back and just under .500 at 55-57. On the mound for the Dodgers is Tony Gonsolin. He had a nice outing in his last appearance but also came against the lowly Oakland Athletics. In his two starts before that, he allowed nine runs.
For the Padres, they’ll send out Seth Lugo, who’s allowed exactly two runs in his last three starts. Lugo's efficiency is partly why we like the Padres ML (-130) at BetMGM Sportsbook.
While the Dodgers are the better team here, Gonsolin has struggled lately despite his recent outing. He has an ERA right around 4.00, north of 6.00 in July.
Fortunately for the Dodgers, they’ll have J.D. Martinez and his 25-home run power back in the lineup.
The Dodgers are third in runs per game at 5.67, while the Padres are 13th with 4.63.

Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates MLB Predictions & Odds, 7:05 PM ET
Continuing with our best MLB bets today, we have two teams going in opposite directions. At the time of this Braves vs. Pirates prediction, the Braves have reached 70 wins while the Pirates are 50-61.
Unfortunately for the Pirates, they’ll have to deal with Braves starter Spencer Strider, a strikeout machine with 208 on the season and double-digit amounts in four of his last five starts, leading us to like Braves -1.5 (-176) at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The problem with Strider is that despite his strikeout prowess, he has games where he gets shelled. Over his last five starts, he’s allowed four or more runs in two but allowed just one against the Los Angeles Angels in his last outing.
The Braves lineup will face Osvaldo Bido, who is more of an opener than a start, having not gone more than four innings in any of his previous five starts. He’s 2-2 with a 5.18 ERA on the year.

Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets MLB Predictions & Odds 7:10 PM ET
As we examine our Cubs vs. Mets prediction, we can’t help but bring up how rough it’s been for the Metropolitans. Since the trade deadline, the team has not only lost several valuable players, but they lost on a balk, but they’re 0-6 in August.
Kodai Senga will start for the Mets, and in his last start against the Kansas City Royals, he went 5 ⅔ innings, allowing three runs on 11 hits. Opposite him is former Tampa Bay Rays great Drew Smyly, who’s had a tough go of it over his last five starts, allowing four more runs in four of them. We like Senga and the Mets ML (-115) at Caesars Sportsbook.
The Cubs are back in the hunt, but Senga has shown to be one of the last players of consistency the Mets have pitching-wise, and his 11.1 K/9 will be valuable here.
