At the time of this writing, the NL Rookie of the Year sports betting odds are off the books, so we’ll focus on the American League.

This race is tight, with three players having +300 odds or better depending on what books you're visiting.

Below, we’ll examine the latest odds and where each player stands for the first time since our last check on June 9.

Favorites for the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year Award

Josh Jung, Texas Rangers

6/9/23 Hitting Stats: .293/.343/.511, 12 HRs, 38 RBIs, 67 Ks, 67 Hits

6/9/23 Odds: FanDuel Sportsbook (+400)

7/7/23 Hitting Stats: .273/.322/.487, 17 HRs, 51 RBIs, 104 Ks, 92 Hits

7/7/23 Odds: FanDuel Sportsbook (+175)

When we last checked in, Jung was second in MLB betting odds, but he’s continued hitting home runs, hitting five more since Juen 9 and adding 13 RBIs.

He did see his average drop by 20 points, but he does have two of those five home runs over the last nine games. Despite his lack of power in July, Jung does have three multi-hit games over his last four, too.

Jung might be the odds-on favorite, but the sinking average does leave a bit of concern despite the five home runs since our last check-in.

Masataka Yoshida, Boston Red Sox

6/9/23 Hitting Stats: .315/.387/.491, 7 HRs, 33 RBIs, 24 Ks, 68 Hits

6/9/23 Odds: DraftKings Sportsbook (+125)

7/7/23 Hitting Stats: .312/.380/.479, 9 HRs, 42 RBIs, 35 Ks, 91 Hits

7/7/23 Odds: DraftKings Sportsbook (+240)

Yoshida is now at +240 to win AL ROY, and it's the best value of these three players. Yoshida has maintained his average, and while he has just nine home runs, he has a much higher on-base percentage than Jung, and the slugging percentages are comparable.

Jung’s home run totals are what is hanging over Yoshida. Still, if he can hold that average both .300 all season long, Yoshida might be able to outlast Jung, whose average dropped by 20 points in about a month.

Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles

7/7/23 Hitting Stats: .246/.339/.465, 13 HRs, 35 RBIs, 90 Ks, 63 Hits

7/7/23 Odds: Caesars Sportsbook (+300)

At +300, the value for Henderson is limited. He has more home runs than Yoshida, but that batting average below .246 with 27 more strikeouts than hits make it tough to recommend a wager on Henderson.

If his average was near Jung and was in the +500 or so range, there might be some value, but you should pass on Henderson wagers for AL Rookie of the Year.
