BetMGM Sportsbook is the No. 1 place I go when I want to wager on parlays. Pre-built Same Game Parlays are available for each NFL game, which I can either bet on or find examples of potential additions to my own. The Easy Parlay page streamlines the parlay-building process. All applicable parlay wagers can be sorted and seamlessly viewed on one page.

BetMGM makes betting on teams in your region easy with a local teams filter, too.

I tend to like the ongoing NFL promos; I think they're creative, fun, and different from what you see in other books. In many ways, Caesars pioneered in-game betting features with Watch & Bet NFL live betting and FireBets microbetting.

Additionally, Caesars offers dozens of odds boosts daily for the NFL, which can help put more money in your bankroll.

Tom Ober
Tom Ober

Caesars does have NFL live streaming, but the other live streaming options aren't as varied, and the live betting options themselves are a bit limited. If I'm looking to place an in-game wager, I'm likely looking for the bet I want at an alternate book.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Generous Welcome Bonus for NFL
  • Daily NFL Odds Boosts in Season
  • Strong User Interface & Design
  • NFL Live Streaming Available
Cons
  • Limited Promotions at Times

FanDuel parallels DraftKings in many ways, but my favorite offering at FanDuel Sportsbook is the Betting 101 guide. This offers text and video content to help new players navigate the “language” of sports betting.

A massive menu of futures betting options, a unique promo for new users, and Parlay Hub. This feature allows you to sort NFL wagers that can be parlayed in just a few clicks. Look out for weekly filters that show bets on your local teams, too.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

FanDuel has a prominent "Live Now" button on the homepage to access live events to follow with a game tracker, which is very important during the NFL season. It also has a solid selection of live-streaming options

Pros & Cons

Pros

If there’s an NFL event that you want to bet on, the chances are that bet365 is the operator most likely to be offering odds on it. This sportsbook carries an impressively wide range of markets on the NFL. That breadth is complemented by depth. The number of options available within each game is extensive, which means that however you like to wager, you should find your favorite play.

For experienced bettors who like to seek out the best price on a wager, competitive odds are a key feature of any sportsbook. bet365 does not let you down when it comes to odds on NFL events.

Richard Janvrin
Richard Janvrin

Though it may not be as well known as others on the list, I’d say bet365 Sportsbook has the best collection of promotions. Some of bet365's promotions for NFL betting include SGP profit boosts, early cashouts, parlay boosts, and more.

Once you're signed up, bet365 is one of the best NFL sportsbooks for live tracking. You can watch and bet on any device, a huge perk, and track real-time scores and game stats.

You won’t find a better NFL sportsbook for NFL player props than DraftKings. The breadth of markets available and the number of individual NFL players to wager on is unmatched compared to its competitors.

DraftKings' odds update frequently, which is good news for live bettors, but it means you must act fast. While the odds are mostly fine, there are occasions when I'll find DraftKings less valuable. For example, for "anytime TD" props in the NFL, DraftKings is typically not my go-to for that value.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

DraftKings offers live streaming for select events, including some NFL games; it has a stellar game tracker to follow live events when streaming isn't available.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Extensive NFL Player Props
  • Unique NFL Betting Features
  • Daily Fantasy Football Available
Cons
  • Limited Customer Support
  • Limited NFL Live Streaming

6. Fanatics Sportsbook (9.25/10)

Top NFL Features:Pre-built NFL parlays, dynamic home screen, FanCash Rewards
NFL Markets:Weekly game lines, parlays, futures

At Fanatics Sportsbook, you’ll earn FanCash based on the odds of the wagers you make. The percentage of FanCash ranges from 0.01% to 10%. You can use FanCash credit to redeem bonus bets or purchase your favorite NFL team's merch from Fanatics' online shop.

It's also worth noting that Fanatics Sportsbook at Northwest Stadium, home of the Commanders, was the first retail sportsbook inside an NFL stadium.

Expert User Reviews

Fanatics offers plentiful live streaming options, including on the NFL; however, to watch NFL games, you need to make at least a $1 bet on the game to watch it in its entirety (the first ten minutes are free).

Only select NFL games are available (I counted 7 for this Week 18's slate).

Richard Janvrin
Richard Janvrin

Fanatics' plentiful features include a live game tracker and even live streaming. However, for some things like the NFL, you must make a wager to watch the live stream. Sure, it makes sense from a business perspective, but having that available to everyone will build excellent player rapport.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Earn FanCash Rewards to Redeem for NFL Merch
  • Bet on NFL from Anywhere with Fanatics App
Cons
  • Limited NFL Markets & Promos
  • Only Available on Mobile

7. BetRivers Sportsbook (9.25/10)

I love BetRivers' pre-game and in-game stats. Perhaps my favorite hidden gem is the Genius Predictor. Selecting your bet type, market, and the factors you consider most important when betting, BetRivers will tell you the best NFL bet you can make on a given matchup.

Dan Moran
Dan Moran

BetRivers's sports and market offerings for the NFL are quite complete. In most markets, they offer either futures or player props.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • All-Encompassing Stats & NFL Betting Trends
  • Large Selection of NFL Props
  • Frequent House Specials on NFL
  • Strong NFL Live Tracking Features
  • Local NFL Teams Automatically Detected
Cons
  • User Interface & Design is a Bit Dated
  • Promos for Ongoing Users can be Hard to Find

8. Hard Rock Bet (9.0/10

Top NFL Features:Flex NFL Parlays, pre-built NFL SGPs, live tracking
NFL Markets:Weekly game lines, futures, game/season specials, NFL draft
NFL Promos:Odds boosts
Welcome Bonus:NFL Bonus Bets
Online Availability:AZ, FL, IL, IN, NJ, OH, TN, VA

Hard Rock Bet, the namesake of the Miami Dolphins' home stadium, houses features like Same-Game Parlays, Flex Parlays, and SGP Max. Flex Parlays allows you to make at least three selections and pick the number you think will win. So, if you were to pick seven games, you could choose as little as two or as many as six, and if that number wins, you’ll win. This can be turned on when you click the Power Parlay option.

SGP Max allows you to combine multiple Same-Game Parlay wagers.

Expert User Reviews

Tom Ober

Hard Rock Bet may not be the industry leader in sports market variety, but they're certainly near the top of the pile. You can find a lot of niche North American and international sports in addition to all the NFL betting options you'd expect.

The only reason the book doesn't get a top mark from me is that some options are a bit basic and stripped-down. That's a minor complaint, though.

Peter Mooney
Peter Mooney

I love Hard Rock Bet's unique features like Flex Parlays and "pinned bets" for betting on the NFL. Plus, live betting features include live stats, animated overlays, and a large selection of events to live-stream.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Unique NFL Parlay Tools
  • Stylized User Interface
Cons
  • Limited NFL Features & Markets (including Live Betting)

A Guide on How to Bet on the NFL

Once you get the gist, betting on the NFL is quite easy. But starting out can be intimidating.

Below, I’ll touch on reading lines and key factors to consider.

Understanding How to Read NFL Betting Lines

Let’s look at winning or wagering $100. For odds with a “-” sign, you must bet that number to win $100. For example, if a bet is -200, you must wager $200 to win $100.

For “+” odds, you’ll win that number if you wager $100 and win. For example, if a bet is +200, bet $100 and win $200 if it wins.

Use this example to see how these notations apply to the three basic bet types: moneyline, point spread, and over/under.

You can wager on NFL games as they’re in progress. The odds shift rapidly for all available betting markets at live betting sites.

To capitalize on real-time odds, you must closely monitor game action and make quick decisions when something big happens—all of which is easier said than done.

Popular NFL Betting Markets

There are numerous ways to bet on the NFL:

Moneyline: With a moneyline bet, wager on which NFL team you think will win the game. The favorite team will have negative odds (a higher chance of winning your bet but with a lower payout), and the underdogs will have positive odds (a lower chance of winning but with a higher payout).

Point Spread: The point spread is a number used to label the gap in power between teams. If a team is -3.5, they must win by four points or more to cover the spread. If a team is +3.5, they must win outright or lose by three or fewer to cover the spread.

Over/Under (Totals): Wager on the combined number of points scored between both teams for an over/under or totals bet. You’ll wager whether both teams will score more or fewer points than the projected amount.

Prop Bets: Proposition bets are wagers on an individual performance or outcome that doesn't concern who wins or loses. These include team, player, and game props. Examples of each include the following: total touchdowns scored (team prop), anytime touchdown scorer (player), the first team to 20 points (game).

Parlays: Parlays combine multiple wagers on one bet slip; if any selections chosen (also known as legs) lose, the entire bet loses. Parlays offer higher payouts since all legs must win for a successful bet. You can also piece together a parlay of player props. You can create a parlay of bets from within a single match. These are called same-game parlays.

Teasers: Teasers are a specific type of parlay that can prove quite helpful for NFL betting. When you bet a teaser, you adjust the point spread within a parlay to increase your chances of winning. In doing so, you'll almost certainly make your odds shorter and your potential payout smaller than otherwise. The six-point teaser is a popular one in NFL betting since seven points is a popular winning margin in football.

Futures: You can bet on NFL events that will resolve in the future, such as the Super Bowl winner, division winners, individual year-end award winners, and more. These odds fluctuate before the season starts and throughout the year, so you'll see varying prices as the season unfolds. If you're paying attention, you can lock in favorite odds on outcomes you're confident in for higher payouts.

Key Factors to Consider When Betting on the NFL

The trick here is to estimate how both teams' offenses will match up against the opposing defenses, considering past team performances and weather conditions that may affect game plans, injury reports, and coaching strategies.

When making your NFL picks, you need to monitor several factors about a team or player to be successful.

These include team rest, coming off a bye week, injuries (and how they affect NFL lineups), weather, home-field advantage, suspensions, coaching staff, statistical performances, indoor/outdoor stadium, playoff implications, historical matchup trends, and more.

It's important to remember the main scoring intervals in football: a field goal is three points, and a touchdown is six (the point-after try adds another). Consider the projected gap between the two teams and translate that into field goals or touchdowns.

Responsible Gambling with Football Betting Sites

NFL sportsbooks, as well as the NFL itself, takes responsible gambling very seriously. The NFL season kicks off in September every year, which coincides with Responsible Gambling Education Month.

The league has a three-year partnership in place with the National Council on Problem Gambling, which funds the National Problem Gambling Helpline, the Agility Grants program (which serves underserved communities affected by problem gambling), and awareness efforts like the ResponsiblePlay.org website.

Internally, the NFL assigns an integrity representative to each team to monitor for suspicious activity on site. Genius Sports and Integrity Compliance 360 also monitor every game and major events for any betting activity that may indicate game manipulation or nonpublic information leaks.

If you think your betting is beyond your control, you can join self-exclusion lists—either your state's official list or the sportsbook's. You can set up cooling off or timeout periods for specific apps for a temporary pause. You can limit deposits, wagers, and time spent within a football sportsbook.

If you or someone you know is struggling with problem gambling, you can call 1-800-GAMBLER, text the National Problem Gambling Helpline, or live chat on their website. State-specific gambling treatment resources are also available. Both sites are linked below.

Final Verdict on NFL Sportsbooks & Football Betting Sites

When it comes down to it, choosing the best NFL betting site ultimately comes down to what you look for in a site. The above recommendations are based on my experience as an online NFL sportsbook reviewer and my personal experience using them.

So, from here, I recommend exploring each site available in your state and deciding on the one you prefer most. However, you should still utilize all the available options, enabling you to compare odds and claim multiple welcome offers.

Good luck this NFL season!
