Detroit Pistons vs Utah Jazz

9:00 EDT Tip-Off

Line: Jazz –11.5   Total: 229 points

I am betting on the Utah Jazz minus 11.5-points at DraftKings Sportsbook and is a valid bet up to and including –12.5 points tonight

Betting on the Jazz minus points is the preferred best-bet opportunity for this matchup

The Utah Jazz front office traded All-Stars and Defensive Player of the Year award winner Rudy Gobert and scoring machine Donovan Mitchell in exchange for a boatload of valuable draft picks that nearly disrupted the face of the franchise last season. Few Jazz fans in the Beehive state were pleased with the news or the results. Then the front office went even further and traded fan favorite, Bojan Bogdanovic to the Detroit Pistons.

The good news is that despite tearing down the team to rebuild the Jazz, they are off to a solid 12-7 SU and against the spread start to the season and sit with the second-best record in the Western Conference. The Jazz fans will also be able to give a warm welcome to Bogdanovic on his first return to the Vivent Arena.

The Pistons are playing their fifth game of a five-game road trip and playing this game on back-to-back nights. So, I expect the road travel to be a problem that they just cannot overcome against a solid NBA team like the Jazz. The following situational trends and angles from my predictive model support a best bet on the Jazz minus the points

  • The Jazz are 97-10 SU (91%), 86-20-1 ATS (81%) when shooting 48% or better from the field and scoring 115 or more points in games played over the past five seasons.
  • The Pistons are 10-84 SU (11%), 26-65-3 ATS (29%) when allowing 115 or more points and allowing 48% shooting from the field in games played over the past five seasons.

Other Games on My Radar

Philadelphia +4 vs Charlotte

  • The 76ers head coach Doc Rivers is 28-12-1 ATS when his team is playing their fourth game over the past 10 days.

Dallas +7 vs Boston

  • The Celtics are 3-16 ATS (16%) when facing teams that are getting outrebounded by three or more rebounds per game
