Wigan will be deflated after Bolton's 92nd-minute smash-and-grab win on Tuesday night condemned them to their 16th defeat of what's become a gloomy season.
They could be in for more disappointment this Saturday afternoon as they travel to London to take on a boisterous and more than capable Leyton Orient.
Brisbane Road is the venue for this League One clash, and the hosts are still aiming to sneak into a play-off spot.
The visitors are probably safe, with some players already having checked out for the season.
The stats are damning for the Lancashire side: Ryan Lowe's men are the lowest scorers in the whole of League One, their goal output of 34 being less than even rock-bottom Shrewsbury Town.
Moreover, the form book tells us Orient have little to fear, as they won the reverse fixture by a comfortable 2-0 margin in the north west.
They should also be fired up for this one, knowing they've played a game less than Blackpool immediately above them. A win, combined with favourable results elsewhere, could carry them onto the coattails of sixth-placed Bolton with six games still to play.
Boasting easily the best goal difference outside the top five, Richie Wellens' team have taken maximum points in seven of their 10 home League games since Boxing Day and took time out to frighten Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
At just less than even money, the 'O's' are a confident pick and can be backed at 19/20 with some betting apps.

Making up an all-League One Grand National day double, we switch from London to London Road, hoping that much improved Peterborough United can continue their recent hot streak in the little-known but hotly-contested Nene Derby.
Five wins and two draws in their last eight have propelled a side in a serious relegation scrap to relative safety.
Judging by Tuesday evening's 4-3 win at Crawley, achieved via a 97th-minute Ricky-Jade Jones penalty, they're still fit, focused and intent on climbing higher.
Their own stadium has been a happy hunting ground of late. They have taken 10 points from the 12 available in their last four and twice scored three in their last three appearances in front of their own supporters.
Those fans should be turbocharged for the visit of local rivals Northampton Town, a side five places below them in 19th but seemingly safe and with little to play for.
This is especially true if Tuesday's tame 2-0 surrender to Rotherham is anything to go by.
The equivalent fixture 12 months ago turned into a landslide 5-1 win for the hosts. More of the same would do nicely for anyone snapping up the 10/11 about a home victory with football betting sites.
