Next LIV Golf Player To Rejoin PGA Tour Odds: Three Stars Face Deadline

Brooks Koepka has left LIV Golf and controversially rejoined the PGA Tour, raising the question about which player could be next to jump ship, according to betting sites.
The five-time major winner joined the series in 2022, but has been allowed to complete a U-turn under the PGA Tour’s returning member programme which closes on February 2, two days before the new LIV season starts in Riyadh.
Under the rules, players are only eligible to return to the PGA Tour if they have been away for more than two years, or won The Players Championship or a major between 2022-25.
Only three other players fit the criteria: Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith.
During a press conference for LIV Golf captains, the trio all suggested they would compete in the Saudi-backed series this year, but could they change their minds?
PGA Tour chief executive Brian Rolapp insists the programme is only open for the 2026 campaign and “there is no promise that this path will be available again”, so Rahm, DeChambeau and Smith will have to move fast if they are considering a switch.
Here, we look at the latest next LIV Golf player to rejoin the PGA Tour odds.
DeChambeau Slight Favourite
If there is one player that craves the limelight, it’s DeChambeau, who looks the most likely of the three to return to the PGA Tour.
DeChambeau has won the US Open and twice finished runner-up at the USPGA Championship since joining LIV Golf in June 2022, so the move has not affected his ability to compete in majors.
Significantly, the American’s contract runs out at the end of the year, so it remains to be seen whether the PGA Tour would move the goalposts to accommodate one of the most popular players on the planet.
DeChambeau’s YouTube channel has more than 2.5million subscribers and his videos are very popular, something the PGA Tour would have to consider if they want the game to grow.
However, the world number 27 said he is “contracted through 2026” and is “excited about this year”, so it does not appear he will be back on the PGA Tour before the deadline.
He will have a decision to make when the season concludes at the end of August, but would the PGA Tour be prepared to change the rules again?
For a box-office star like DeChambeau, poaching one of LIV Golf’s biggest stars would be a major coup.
Next LIV Golf Player To Rejoin PGA Tour Odds:

Bryson DeChambeau | 8/11 | 57.9% |
Jon Rahm | 6/5 | 45.5% |
Cameron Smith | 3/1 | 25% |
Rahm Contract An Issue
Spanish superstar Rahm has won the money list for the last two years and he also captained Legion XIII to team success on the LIV Golf League, which this year will play 72-hole tournaments instead of 54 as in previous years.
However, Rahm sounded less than convincing when asked whether he would follow Koepka in rejoining the PGA Tour.
After collecting his thoughts, he said: "I’m not planning on going anywhere. As far as I’m concerned, I’m focused on the league and hoping my team can repeat as champs."

Rahm has three years left on his contract, so he would need to compensate LIV Golf should he decide to desert and also pay significant penalties to the PGA Tour.
It seems unlikely that the 2023 US Masters champion is ready to make the switch this season, but he is the 6/5 second favourite on betting apps to rejoin the PGA Tour next.
Aussie Smith Outsider For Return
Smith was not allowed to enjoy his Open Championship success in 2022 when he was peppered with questions about whether he was preparing to join LIV Golf.
The Australian dodged the bullets in the press conference and a month later joined the breakaway organisation.
Smith has won three events in the series, but none in the last two years and he missed the cut in all four majors last year.

As a consequence, his world ranking has plummeted to 207th, so he does not have the same appeal as he did in 2022.
The six-time PGA Tour winner insists he is planning “to be on LIV for years to come”, so it’s no surprise he is the 3/1 outsider to make the switch next.
