Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: 2 Selections For Monday

Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
His profit and loss record for 2026 stands at -5.5 points.
Here are Rhys' tips for Monday, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
14:48 Punchestown: Double Power - 0.5pt Win @ 20/1
Kimi De Mai is a very short-priced favourite for this maiden hurdle, but she doesn’t strike me as the most reliable type.
I’m not sure she’s crying out for this trip, so I’m taking her on with a couple at double-figure prices who I think could be more of a danger than the market suggests.
Double Power showed very little in points but stepped up significantly on that form when making his rules and stable debut for Ian Donoghue at Leopardstown.
While he was never competitive in that maiden hurdle over 2m4f, it was a much deeper one than the race Double Power contests today, so to be beaten 23 lengths in that company was a fair effort on his rules debut.
Now that he’s gained that hurdling experience and shown he has ability, I wonder if they might look to ride him handier today as he looked in need of a stiffer test of stamina that day.
This more testing ground is an unknown for him and he’s got to show that he can repeat that effort after so many poor runs prior to it, but I think the market is overlooking his chance a little and any 14/1 or bigger appeals.

14:48 Punchestown: Sticktothescript - 0.5pt Win @ 28/1
Sticktothescript is the other horse of interest with the step up in trip likely to suit him.
He looked short of the speed required for two miles and still a bit green when finishing eighth at Gowran on his rules debut over two miles.
Prior to that, he had run well in defeat in a point at Liscarroll and his performance that day suggested this sort of trip would be more suitable for him, so I’m hopeful that he can build on his two performances so far.
It may be that this will be another step forward on his education and he might ideally want to go left-handed, but I think he has the potential to run well at a big price and any 20/1 or bigger appeals.
