He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.

15:40 Punchestown: The Dancen Kid - 0.5pt Win @ 16/1

Kobalt St Georges may be too good for his rivals racing off a 16lb lower mark over hurdles than fences, but I think The Dancen Kid could be more of a danger to him than the market suggests on his handicap debut.

He showed a bit of promise at this track on debut when making late headway and caught the eye more notably on his latest start at Naas.

Given a patient ride, he started to pass horses turning down the back straight.

That progress continued late in the back straight but he was stuck in behind horses turning the final bend.

Once angled out to get a clear run, he made some headway in the closing stages to finish 13th under hands and heels riding.

The way that he’s finished on a couple of occasions suggests the return to this longer trip can suit him if he settles in the early stages, and the application of a hood for the first time, will hopefully help on that front.

It may be that his ability will come out further down the line as he matures, but I think the market is underestimating the chance of him taking a step forward on his handicap debut and any 12/1 or bigger appeals.

Rhys' Selection 1: 15:40 Punchestown - The Dancen Kid - 0.5pt Win

20:00 Wolverhampton: Good Shot - 0.5pt Win @ 16/1

Good Shot finished behind a few of today’s rivals when last seen at Southwell, but I think she has a better chance of bouncing back from that disappointing run than the market suggests.

She showed a bit of promise on her return to the all weather at Lingfield three starts ago when looking short of the necessary speed for the 1m2f trip, but she kept responding to pressure to be beaten just over three lengths.

Good Shot built on that next time at this track when she was no match for Dingwall after getting stuck in behind rivals around the last bend, but ran on well to finish second under this evening’s jockey.

I think the reapplication of a hood didn’t help Good Shot at Southwell last time and I’m not sure that track suited her either.

This test is likely to be more suitable for her, and while I do have a concern that she isn’t straightforward given her reaction to being under pressure at Southwell, I think she has the ability to run well in a race of this quality.

Any 12/1 or bigger appeals.

Rhys' Selection 2: 20:00 Wolverhampton - Good Shot - 0.5pt Win
