Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: 2 Selections For Thursday

Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
His profit and loss stands at -13.65 points from 45 points staked, with returns of 31.35 points.
Here are Rhys' tips for Thursday, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
16:22 Southwell: He's An Angel - 1pt Win @ 11/1
He’s An Angel finished a length behind Neptune Legend at Wolverhampton last month, and I think he has a better chance of reversing those placings than the market suggests in this six-furlong handicap.
He’s An Angel was returning from over a year off and his freshness showed in the early stages as he raced very keenly under restraint through the first half of the race.
He made headway under pressure in the home straight, but he couldn’t quite sustain the effort late on and finished fourth.
It was a more encouraging run on his stable debut for Kevin Frost, after his mark had been on the slide for his previous yard.
The absence and keenness looked to tell late on that day, so hopefully he will be fitter for that run.
There looks to be some early pace in this race which will hopefully allow him to settle better. Any 8/1 or bigger appeals.

16:52 Southwell: Winchurch - 1pt Win @ 11/2
Winchurch has had no luck in recent runs, but I’m hoping that he will have a better chance to get a clear run from stall one this afternoon and that can allow him to show his true ability.
At Lingfield two starts ago, he was tightened for room after two furlongs, which led to him losing his place a little - and then he got no run inside the final furlong when he was starting to close.
Last time over today’s course and distance, he was hampered by Havechatma in the early stages, but he was still travelling well in behind the leading group at halfway.
However, his path was completely blocked from that point onwards and he finished without coming off the bridle.
The likely strong pace in this race will suit his late closing style, and while stall one may not usually be ideal over this course and distance, there is the trade off that it should at least give Winchurch a better chance of getting a clear run through in the closing stages.
Any 9/2 or bigger appeals.
