Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday's Selections

Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
Here are his tips for Tuesday using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
12:42 Lingfield: Can You Hear Me - 0.5pt Win @ 25/1
Minella Marathon heads the market for the opening novices’ hurdle at Lingfield following a good performance when winning an Irish maiden point on debut.
The market clearly hasn’t missed his chance whereas I think the two other four-year-olds are a little overpriced.
Can You Hear Me’s jumping wasn’t convincing prior to him sending Michael Nolan flying over his head on hurdling debut at Worcester.
However, he was keen that day and I’m hoping with that freshness knocked out of him, he will be more focused and jump better as a result.
He showed promise in both bumpers last season while looking a longer term type, firstly at Kempton when he made quite a smart move on the inside in the home straight, after being held up but couldn’t quite sustain that late on.
At Chepstow, I thought the severe undulations in the closing stages unsettled him and the physical weakness showed.

I am a bit concerned over whether Can You Hear Me wants a step up in trip like this on his second start over hurdles and he might be one for further down the line rather than today.
However, I think the market is overlooking his chance a little given the overall quality of this race and any 16/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selections 1: 12:42 Lingfield - Can You Hear Me - 0.5pt Win
12:42 Lingfield: Laurier Des Obeaux - 0.5pt Win @ 20/1
The other horse of interest at the prices is another who could be more of a long-term prospect, but I think has the ability to be more competitive than the market suggests if ready to go on hurdling debut.
Laurier Des Obeaux could only finish fourth on his debut in a bumper at Huntingdon, but I thought his lack of experience told, while the first three home all had the benefit of at least one previous run.
In a slowly run race, he was outpaced turning into the home straight and took a little while to realise what was required of him but finished off well and took some time to pull up after.
Physically, he looks a chasing type and it may be that he will show his best in that sphere later in his career, but I think Laurier Des Obeaux will be more suited to this test than that bumper and has the potential to take a good step forward as a result.
Any 14/1 odds or bigger appeals.

15:11 Huntingdon: He's A Latchico - 1pt Win @ 15/2
I’m hoping the Moores can have further success at Huntingdon with He’s A Latchico who returns to action after a 197-day absence.
He only managed two starts over hurdles last season, running on late after being poorly positioned in the first of them at Newbury and then winning with plenty in hand at Fontwell.
The way that he travelled through that race suggested there could be more to come from him now that he’s away from racing on very testing ground over hurdles.
It’s easy to forgive the run when last seen on the flat as he was held up in a slowly run race over a trip too short for him.
It might be that He’s A Latchico will need the run after a break and they might not want to have him held up too far off the pace in a race that may not be too strongly run.
However, I think he has the potential to take another step forward in this sphere and any 9/2 or bigger appeals.
