Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: 3 Selections For Tuesday

The Panel are delighted to have Rhys Williams as part of our team of racing tipsters.
Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
His profit and loss record for the year stands at -25.62 points from 28.50 points staked.
Here are Rhys' tips for Tuesday, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
14:45 Newbury: Let's Love - 1pt Win @ 10/1
Let’s Love is making his British debut after 472 days off the track, and hopefully can continue the revival of Venetia Williams’ fortunes after a double on Saturday.
He made his debut over hurdles at Compiegne for Jerome Delauney and showed plenty of promise.
Let’s Love looked a bit green early on, but was soon racing quite prominently and generally jumped well.
He was briefly outpaced turning the final bend in fourth before rallying well under mostly hands and heels pressure to finish third.
The late Lascar Du Mathan was a step above his rivals that day but the second, fourth and fifth have all run to a fairly good level since, and I thought Let’s Love had more potential to improve for the experience than they did.
I thought it was an encouraging sign that Venetia Williams chose to buy Let’s Love back for an owner in her yard at the Maxwell dispersal sale, and the absence of over a year isn’t such a concern with French imports from this yard.
It may be that he will want to further show his best and will find everything happening a bit too quickly today, but I think the ability he showed on debut suggests he can be more competitive than his price indicates and any 6/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 1: 14:45 Newbury - Let's Love - 1pt Win
14:45 Newbury: Seeking Charles - 0.5pt Win @ 80/1
In the same race, I can’t let Seeking Charles go unbacked at a huge price on his hurdling debut given the ground conditions.
He ran well when chasing home Beeley on very testing ground at Ffos Las, when trained by Joe Tickle and backed that up with a respectable run on handicap debut on better ground at Sandown.
He returned towards the end of last year in the care of Mark Usher, and both runs on the all-weather were terrible.
However, he showed far more in an amateur riders' handicap at this track on heavy ground, when he was the only one to make any ground from the back of the field to finish third and a long way clear of the rest.
There’s the obvious unknown over how he will jump on hurdling debut, but I think he’s a little overpriced given the ability he showed in similar conditions on the flat and any 40/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 2: 14:45 Newbury - Seeking Charles - 0.5pt Win
15:20 Newbury: Swindon Village - 1pt Win @ 11/4
Swindon Village was no match for Moneygarrow and They Call Me Hugo in the closing stages at Windsor last time, when not quite seeing out the trip and I think he can bounce back to winning ways back down in trip.
He ran well on hurdling debut in a strong maiden hurdle at Ffos Las, when finishing third to Kalkbrenner and built on that when winning at Leicester under an attacking ride.
Sent clear at an early stage, his jumping wasn’t always too fluent, but after seeing off the challenge of Home Made Hero, he had enough left to not allow Lon Chaney to put in a serious challenge late on and won by five and a half lengths.
While I’m a bit concerned that he can jump a little to his right, I think a repeat of such tactics over this trip today will see Swindon Village in a better light than when running over three miles last time.
I think there’s too much between him and Bobby’s Nelson in the market given the ability they’ve shown over hurdles and any 9/4 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 3: 15:20 Newbury - Swindon Village - 1pt Win
All odds correct at time of publish.
