Rhys Williams' Daily Horse Racing Tips: 3 Selections For Tuesday

The Panel are proud to announce the addition of Rhys Williams to our talented team of racing tipsters.
Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
Here are his tips for Tuesday, using the most up-to-date odds from the best horse racing betting sites.
12:35 Limerick: Castle Croiuil - 0.5pt Each-Way @ 40/1
It’s a weak contest that opens the card at Limerick and I think the market is underestimating Castle Croiuil’s chance on the switch to hurdling.
He showed a fairly good level of ability in four starts in points despite not always jumping too well.
Having shown promise on debut when unseating at the last, he got off the mark with plenty in hand at Ballyvodock.
The extreme test of stamina found him out at Bandon and he duly bounced back on his final start in that sphere with a good run in defeat behind Gale Force Jet.
Castle Croiuil hasn’t built on that promise since going under rules, but his jumping of fences has been an issue and prevented him from being able to show his best.

I’m hoping the switch to hurdling will give him a better chance of being able to show his true ability.
While I’m not sure he wants the ground this deep, he looks overpriced given the quality of this race. Any 16/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 1: 12:35 Limerick - Castle Croiuil - 0.5pt Each-Way
13:55 Kelso: Solid Performer - 1pt Win @ 11/2
Solid Performer made a belated debut as a seven-year-old earlier this year, but the impression he created that day suggests he can run well on his rules debut this afternoon.
He made his debut at Woodford when in the care of Fran Poste and I thought he won with far more in hand than the winning margin suggests.
Having been headed by William Yeats going to four out, he was soon back challenging that rival and travelling far better going to two out.
He had to be briefly shaken along on landing, but he cruised upsides his rival going to the last and despite not jumping that too well, picked up on the run-in to win by one and a half lengths.
It wasn’t the deepest maiden, but the manner in which Solid Performer travelled through the race showed that he has a good level of ability and the runner-up has since finished second in a bumper.
While the softening ground is an unknown for him, his action suggests he should be fine and any 4/1 or bigger appeals about him making it two from two.
19:15 Newcastle: Nazalan - 0.5pt Win @ 33/1
Nazalan hasn’t shown too much since joining the Coward training duo, but I think he has a better chance of bouncing back under the circumstances of this race than his big price suggests.
His form had been on the slide for Sean Woods, while trying a variety of trips, in 2024 before being picked up for 9,000gns to join his new connections.
He was a bit disappointing at Redcar on his first start for them, but given that he was off for 151 days after that, it could be that he had a problem that day.
He’s only managed to beat two rivals in two starts since returning from that break but those races were over seven furlongs and a mile.
I think he’s a sprinter so the return to six furlongs this evening should be more suitable for him.
It might be that he’s just not the horse he once was and the variety of headgear that was tried when in his previous yard suggests he may not be straightforward either.
However, this is a weak race and I think his potential to bounce back is being overlooked a little. Any 25/1 or bigger appeals.
Rhys' Selection 3: 19:15 Newcastle - Nazalan - 0.5pt Win
