Rhys Williams' Racing Tips: 1 Selection For Tuesday
Horse racing expert Rhys Williams is sharing his best selections for today's racing.
Rhys has been a racing analyst for over 10 years, working for At The Races and most recently as a tipster for Betfair where his tipping column had a 31% ROI over four and a half years.
He often focuses away from the front end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.
Thanks to his recent winners, Rhys' tips have returned 144.93 points from 116.5 points staked, meaning his profit and loss record stands at 28.43pts overall.

18:42 Ffos Las: Stadmallen - 0.5pt Win @ 66/1
Stadmallen runs from 10lb out of the handicap and was in poor form when last seen.
It’s no surprise that the market has made him such a big price for this handicap chase on his return to racing under rules, but I wouldn’t be as surprised as the market suggests if he was capable of bouncing back this evening.
Stadmallen showed little ability when previously running under rules for Nigel Twiston-Davies back in 2020-21, before being bought to run for Heidi Stevens (now McCreesh).
Stadmallen showed some promise in his first season for the yard and built on that in the 2022/23 season, when stringing together some good performances including a maiden win at Wadebridge on soft ground.
He continued to run well the following season, but I think the ground was too quick for him when he finished fifth in the Devon and Cornwall Intermediate Final at Exeter.
His form took a dip the following season, but that was in line with the yard’s fortunes - so it could be there was something other than the horse’s ability that caused him to run so far below the quality of his previous pointing runs.
Stadmallen now returns after just over a year off for Jane Williams so has made a positive trainer switch and while he may ideally have wanted softer ground, the good to soft ground should still be fine for him.
The quality of his best point runs was better than the rating of 79 that he is effectively running off tonight and if he can get back to that I think he could run better than his price suggests.
There is the obvious concern that he just might not be as good as he was or that he’s one of those horses who does better in points than under rules but his price is too big to ignore and any 25/1 or bigger appeals.
