Saturday Racing Tips - Delacroix Could Surprise In Eclipse

This weekend's racing is centred around the Coral Eclipse at Sandown.

The Group 1 contest has been won by some of the greats in the equine world, and six runners will go to post this year hoping to join the illustrious roll of honour.

There are also some tasty handicap races on the card, while the Lancashire Oaks takes centre stage at Haydock.

Below, we have picked out three of Saturday's best bets and the top prices available on betting sites.

Saturday's Selections

14:25 Sandown - Greek Order - 1pt Win - 10/3 With William Hill

I have a feeling that Greek Order is still slightly ahead of the handicapper.

Having spent the last year racing in America, he took a step forward in form when a close fourth in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.

He may have hit the front a little soon on that occasion, so he will need to be ridden more patiently.

Ryan Moore comes in for the ride, so he certainly won't be lacking in the saddle.

The five-year-old has course and distance form, and should have a good chance of getting back to winning ways.

15:15 Haydock - Paddy The Squire - 0.5pts Each-Way - 9/1 With Bet365 (5 Places)

The Old Newton Cup is always a tricky race to decipher.

This year's renewal is no different, but with most betting apps offering five places, it is ideal for an each-way bet.

There are many with chances, but Paddy The Squire stands out now he is stepped back up in trip.

Iain Jardine's five-year-old is as consistent as they come, and there was a lot to like about his performance at York last time.

The handicapper has left him on a mark of 85, and he should go close on ground he will like.

15:35 Sandown - Delacroix - 1pt Win - 11/2 With Boylesports

Ombudsman will be all the rage in the Coral Eclipse, and it is easy to see why.

Godolphin's colt continues to improve and has tasted defeat just once in his career so far.

He was very impressive in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, and a similar performance here makes him hard to beat.

Saying that, it might be worth taking him on at the prices.

Delacroix is a somewhat forgotten horse after his no-show in the Derby.

He was sent off favourite at Epsom but encountered trouble during the race, and his chances were gone early.

At 11/2 with horse racing betting sites, he could be worth taking a chance on.
