Sheffield United Vs Bristol City Bet Builder: Four-Legged Acca From The Panel

Sheffield United and Bristol City start the Championship season with new managers at the helm in a game which is a repeat of last season's play-off semi-final.

Blades boss Chris Wilder paid the price for losing to Sunderland in the final and was swiftly replaced by former Reading and Hull manager Ruben Selles.

Ex-Barnsley gaffer Gerhard Struber has taken charge of the Robins following Liam Manning's move to Norwich at the start of June.

The Yorkshire side are 8/1 fourth favourites on betting sites to win the Championship, but they have sold defender Anel Ahmedhodzic and Kieffer Moore to Feyenoord and Wrexham respectively in recent days.

United are the 3/4 favourites to beat Bristol City, just as they did three times in four meetings last season, while the visitors are a best-priced 4/1 with Betfred.

However, the purpose of this preview is to pick out a few ideas for a Sheffield United vs Bristol City Bet Builder.

The Panel have gone with Bet365 for this four-legged tip because they are one of the bookies which have a sub off, play on policy, so your bet continues even if a player is substituted.

Sheffield United Vs Bristol City Bet Builder: Saturday, 5.30pm

This Championship bet builder tip pays 11/4 with Bet365.

(Odds correct at time of publication - 4:30pm 8/8/25)

Bet Builder Leg 1: Go For Goals

Sheffield United blew City away in the semi-finals in May, winning both legs by 3-0 scorelines for a 6-0 aggregate victory.

During the regular season, the Blades struck twice in the final five minutes to secure a 2-1 victory at Ashton Gate in November, and four months later Mark Sykes struck in the final minute to earn City a 1-1 draw in the return fixture.

That means all four encounters involved at least two goals, so that seems a decent way to start Saturday's Bet Builder which is priced at 2/7.

There were a combined 26 goals in Sheffield United's five pre-season friendlies, while City signed off for the summer with a 4-0 victory over Valladolid.

Over 2.5 goals is available at 10/11, but The Panel are taking the safe option for their opening leg.

Bet Builder Leg 1: Over 1.5 Goals

Bet Builder Leg 2: Campbell To Hit Target

Tyrese Campbell was United's top scorer last season with 10 goals and he also opened the scoring against City in the 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

The former Stoke striker has been looking sharp in pre-season, breaking the deadlock in a 3-2 defeat at French top-flight side Nice in their final outing.

He also scored against both National League side York and South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham, so he seems to have got his eye in ahead of the opening game.

Campbell had two shots on target in the drawn encounter between these sides and one in the first leg of the semi-final.

In the final 17 games of last season, including the play-offs, Campbell had an effort on goal 14 times, so there is a reasonable expectation he can oblige this weekend.

Bet Builder Leg 2: Tyrese Campbell +0.5 Shots On Target

Bet Builder Leg 3: Hamer Time To Shine

Standing just behind Campbell in United's goalscoring chart is Gustavo Hamer, who found the net nine times last season.

The Brazilian midfielder is a free-kick specialist and he also loves to have a pop from distance, just as he did in the second leg of the semi-final when he scored with a deflected effort from a corner routine.

Although Hamer scored one goal fewer than Campbell, he actually had two more shots on target over the course of the season, 27 in total, the most of any Blades player.

It's slightly concerning Hamer didn't score any of United's 19 pre-season goals, but he only needs to hit the target for this leg to come in.

Bet Builder Leg 3: Gustavo Hamer +0.5 Shots On Target

Bet Builder Leg 4: Knight And Daze

Bristol City midfielder Jason Knight was booked six times last season, and although Ross McCrorie (10) and Cameron Pring (8) received more yellow cards, there was no doubting who committed the most fouls.

Knight was the main offender last season with 44 which averages at around one per game.

The Robins were one of the most disciplined teams last season with just 79 cautions, although defender Robert Dickie was sent off twice against Saturday's opponents during the four meetings.

The centre-back is 6/5 to commit a foul, but he only committed around one in every three games, so The Panel are going with Knight at 4/9 as the final leg.
