Red Rock Resorts Unveils $385M Durango Expansion Amid Record Growth

Red Rock Resorts is making a significant investment to capture the rapidly growing southwest Las Vegas locals market, with the company spending $385 million on the second phase of its Durango Casino & Resort expansion.

The project, scheduled to break ground in January 2026, will add 275,000 square feet of entertainment-packed space, transforming the off-Strip jewel into a full-scale leisure powerhouse.

Construction is expected to be completed within approximately 18 months, allowing for the introduction of a sprawling 36-lane bowling alley, plush luxury movie theaters, a dynamic food hall featuring several new restaurants, and a variety of entertainment venues.

The casino floor receives a substantial enhancement, with almost 400 more slot machines added to the mix.

This expansion on the north side is a result of Durango's overwhelming success since opening, as guests have been drawn to its neighborhood-casino vibe.

Record Profits Fuel Red Rock’s $120M Durango Expansion Push

The timing is perfect. Red Rock just released its ninth consecutive quarter of record net revenue at $468.6m, as well as all-time-high adjusted earnings of $209.4M for Q3 2025.

Net income jumped 39% year-over-year to $76.9m, the fifth straight quarter of peak cash flow.

While Strip resorts wrestle with fluctuations in tourism, Red Rock’s emphasis on locals at its everyday-gamer properties continues to excel, led by consistent demand from residents and those who drive in for a day or weekend of gaming.

The first stage of the Durango renovation, a $120 million project, is expected to be completed by December 2025.

It includes 25,000 square feet of casino space, featuring a sophisticated high-limit slot room and bar with 120 machines and an additional 110 machines on the floor, for a total of 230 new slots.

A vast new parking garage with nearly 2,000 spaces will ease access, paving the way for crowds and future phases.

Durango Aims To Redefine Suburban Vegas Fun

Executives say the changes are tailored to what Vegas locals want: a single destination that blends gaming with fun activities, such as bowling and movies.

The plan capitalizes on the area's skyrocketing growth, with more than 6,000 new homes expected within a three-mile radius in the next few years, and an additional 34,000 at the nearby Downtown Summerlin and Summerlin West projects.

Durango isn't done evolving. Future phases could bring hotel towers and convention space, with Red Rock teasing announcements on its next big project by late January.

Executives view the expansion as critical to capturing a larger share of a market where population growth is driving ever-increasing demand.

While Red Rock cements its off-Strip empire, Durango is ready to change the face of suburban Vegas entertainment.

With financials firing on all cylinders and amenities set to dazzle, the resort is betting, and winning, on the locals who call this desert home.
