8. Sporttrade Arizona (6.7/10)

Launch DateSept. 26, 2024
AZ PartnerQuechan Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation
Retail LocationNone

Sporttrade is a fresh entry to the Arizona market, bringing a unique exchange-style betting model where players bet against each other rather than the house. It stands out from traditional sportsbooks by presenting odds as probabilities, offering tighter margins, and being more dynamic in live pricing.

Where Sporttrade truly shines is in live betting. The exchange format allows users to buy and sell positions during games in real time, with rapid updates and sharp pricing often outperforming conventional -110 lines. However, no live streaming or game trackers are available, limiting the in-play experience to score and clock updates only.

While still growing in recognition, Sporttrade’s approach appeals to bettors seeking transparency, value, and flexibility.

Pros
  • Innovative exchange betting model
  • Transparent, competitive odds with low vig
  • Excellent live betting experience
  • Comprehensive, responsive customer support
Cons
  • Limited betting markets & bet types
  • Few ongoing promos
  • No live streaming or live game tracking

9. Bet Desert Diamond (6.4/10)

Launch DateAug. 2022
AZ PartnerTohono O’odham Nation
Retail LocationDesert Diamond Casinos in Tuscon, Sahuarita, West Valley, White Tanks

Desert Diamond Bet is a homegrown Arizona sportsbook with a solid local following thanks to its simple layout, competitive odds, and community focus. While only available in Arizona, the sportsbook’s odds are competitive—sometimes even sharper than those of bigger brands.

Desert Diamond Bet offers a strong local option for Arizona bettors. It combines a clean design, regular promos, and locally competitive odds with a trustworthy, community-based brand. Its biggest challenges lie in app stability, limited payment options, and the absence of advanced features like live streaming.

It’s not perfect, but Desert Diamond delivers for Arizonans seeking a simple, fair, and locally operated sportsbook.

Pros
  • Built for Arizona players
  • Competitive odds with emphasis on local Arizona teams
  • "Gem Picks" showcases bettors' picks with video testimonials & ability to copy bets

How We Rate & Review Arizona Sportsbooks

We review sports betting sites in Arizona the same way we do in every state.

Our rigorous review process ensures we recommend only the best Arizona sportsbooks, focusing on criteria like their reputation, mobile app usability, exclusive promotions, competitive odds, diverse betting options, varied banking methods, live streaming quality, and adherence to the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement's safety standards.

We sign up with every available betting app, deposit real money, claim sportsbook promos, place bets after analyzing the markets, test customer service, compare mobile vs. desktop experiences, and withdraw winnings.

We monitor the growing Arizona betting market.

After all that, we average multiple experts' grades across 10 different categories to get an overall score out of 10, which you see above.

How to Sign Up for Arizona Sportsbooks

It is very easy to establish an account at these sites. For the most part, you will find the same process at each Arizona sports betting site. You follow the prompts and place your first bet in minutes.

The companies holding Arizona sports betting licenses are entirely reputable and are in it for the long haul. You can confidently open your account at any approved Arizona online sportsbook.

1. Create An Account

Establishing and funding your account is a three-step process, and the creation step comes first. When you click the link to set up your account, you will be required to provide this information:

  • Email address and/or username and password for login purposes
  • Full name, gender, and birthday
  • Home address and mobile number
  • Answers to security questions
  • Bonus code
  • Acknowledge legal disclaimers
  • Provide the last four digits of your SSN
  • Answer additional identity check questions

After you have completed these steps, your account will be established, and you will be prompted to proceed to the next step.

2. Deposit Money

Funding the account comes next. You will see a list of deposit methods that you can utilize, and it is a point-and-click setup. There are some differences depending on the site, but these are some of the most commonly offered methods:

  • Visa and MasterCard
  • PayPal
  • Pay Near Me
  • Online Bank Transfers
  • In-Person Counter Deposit
  • VIP Preferred
  • Skrill
  • E-check

When deciding on the amount you want to deposit, you should consider the implications of the sign-up bonus. A bonus bet is just that; it is not a free bet. To take advantage of the promotion, you have to wager, and you will receive a refund if you lose.

If you are excited about a $1,000 bonus bet sign-up bonus, you must fund your account with at least $1,000 to take full advantage of it. If you lose, the amount you bet will be refunded to your account, but you cannot withdraw it immediately.

You would be required to wager the refund amount before you can withdraw the money from your account.

3. Place your First Bet

Before placing your first bet, you must download a geolocation plug-in. The sites are required by law to ensure that you are physically located in Arizona when you are making the wager. This is simply a matter of clicking a “download now” button.

If that process goes smoothly, you will go through these steps to place a wager:

  • Click on the market (NBA, NFL, college football, etc.) that you want to access
  • Click the button representing the wager that you want to make
  • Fill in the amount of your bet on the bet slip that will appear
  • Click the prominent button at the bottom of the slip to place the bet

The proper way to proceed is self-evident when looking at the wagering board on any Arizona sports betting site.

Arizona Sports Betting Laws & Legislation

House Bill 2772 legalized sports betting in Arizona in person, online, and via mobile in 2021.

The legislation allowed for issuing 20 gaming licenses. Ten were earmarked for Native American tribes, and up to 10 licenses can be issued to Arizona sports franchises. The law updated tribal-state gaming compacts to allow tribes to particiapte in wagering.

Under the sports gambling legislation, people 21 years and older can bet on pro and college sports, but high school sports are off-limits. Proposition betting on college sports is also prohibited.

The law requires the Arizona Department of Gaming must regulate event wagering; if a sportsbook is unsure about the legality of wagering on a particular sporting event, it can seek approval from the ADG.

Comparing Arizona Sports Betting to Other States

Although Arizona legalized mobile and online betting relatively recently, it has quickly climbed into the upper tier of states in per capita handle, joining the likes of New Jersey, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

This can partly be attributed to Arizona's relatively favorable tax rates. Arizona’s tax rates (8% for retail and around 10% for online) are relatively moderate compared to some states, which helps attract operators and keep the market competitive. Most bets are placed online rather than at retail sportsbooks.

Even with strong growth rates, Arizona's total gross gaming revenue and handle are smaller than those of bigger states, like New York and Illinois.

Popular Sports & Teams to Bet on in Arizona

Several of these teams have received sports gambling licenses from the Arizona Department of Gaming under the terms of the sports betting legalization bill.

Football

  • NFL Teams: Arizona Cardinals
  • College Football Teams: Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Grand Canyon Antelopes, Northern Arizona Lumberjacks
  • Indoor Football Teams: Arizona Rattlers

NFL football is the most popular sport to bet on, and college football is a distant second. When the playoffs begin, interest intensifies as the focus narrows.

Arizona residents can legally wager on the postseason, and the Super Bowl is the culmination of a uniquely exciting season for football fans.

Baseball

  • MLB Teams: Arizona Diamondbacks

Baseball is winding down when football begins, and the playoffs start, and the Arizona sportsbooks will be busy. Laying wagers on the individual games will make them more interesting, and you can sometimes get great value on postseason baseball futures bets.

Basketball

  • NBA Teams: Phoenix Suns
  • WNBA Teams: Phoenix Mercury
  • College Basketball Teams: Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils

Bettors in Arizona can wager on professional and college basketball, though there are restrictions on college sports betting. Arizona prohibits prop bets on individual college players, which includes basketball and football.

Golf

  • PGA Courses: TPC Scottsdale Golf Club

Arizona hosts major golf events throughout the year. Because Arizona hosts significant golf tournaments, local sportsbooks may offer special promotions or enhanced coverage for those events, which can give a competitive edge.

Since fewer bettors focus on golf than major team sports, odds may move more slowly or inefficiently, potentially enabling sharper strategies.

NASCAR

  • Racetracks: Phoenix Raceway

Arizona features NASCAR events, so local sportsbooks provide strong coverage and specialized odds for those races. Because fewer everyday bettors may focus on NASCAR, there is often less competition and possibly more exploitable odds inefficiencies.

Alternatives to Arizona Sports Betting

Six operators have obtained licenses to offer daily fantasy sports contests, and they are led by industry powerhouses FanDuel and DraftKings.

Responsible Gambling in Arizona

We recommend always betting at legal and regulated Arizona sportsbooks.

Because the government regulates the activity, all conventional funding methods are available to players on the legal sites. The above-board environment in the legal Arizona sportsbook universe is healthy and competitive because of the governmental oversight. There is no reason to take chances gambling in the shadows at inferior offshore sports betting sites.

Monetary transactions related to gambling online are illegal in the United States unless the sportsbook is licensed in this country. As a result, funding offshore bank accounts has always been somewhat tricky, and making withdrawals is even harder. Plus, if something goes wrong, you are at the mercy of the sportsbook operator. You cannot contact a regulatory body that is easily accessible to file a complaint.
