Who doesn’t love some midweek MLS action? After some crazy results over the weekend, there are six games spread across Tuesday and Wednesday.

As usual, we’ve put together our MLS betting advice for this week’s fixtures, along with a look into what the stats say ahead of the games.

Game of the Week

Inter Miami +280 at San Jose Earthquakes -130

Two teams that consistently get involved in high-scoring matches will meet here as Inter Miami travels to California to meet with San Jose Earthquakes.

San Jose has experienced more goals this season than any other MLS side, scoring 36 and giving up a stunning 45. The Quakes are the favorites here despite winning just one of their past five games.

Miami is in poor form, but with a 4-4 tie with Cincinnati last time out, it again enters this game in a high-scoring mood. Phil Neville's team has scored 26 goals and conceded 37 so far this MLS season, and Miami is going to be confident in scoring some more of their own ahead of this one.

Over 3.5 goals in this game is +158 with FanDuel.

Best Bet of the Week

Nashville +220 at Portland Timbers +105

This is another game that could easily be voted as the game. Ahead of the game in Oregon, only one point separates the two teams with them both sitting inside the playoff positions.

This season, Nashville has been tough to predict, with 29 goals scored and conceded. What's more, it has lost seven and won eight in pursuit of playoffs and it was only three weeks ago that Nashville was sitting third in the table compared to its sixth place now.

Portland has put in a fantastic record of 39 goals so far this MLS season, but with it letting in 35, Nashville will be hopeful of securing another win on the road here.

Nashville has lost just two games in three months away from home in the MLS, beating the likes of D.C. United and Colorado Rapids in this time and tying with Cincinnati in its last away game. We think Gary Smith could lead his side to another victory away from GEODIS Park.

Nashville to win 2-1 is +1000 with DraftKings.

What the Stats Say Heading Into These Games

After 21 games, Colorado Rapids’ top striker, Diego Rubio, has managed to score the first goal in five, putting him as the most statistically-likely player to get the first goal in his game against the Red Bulls as he has done so at a rate of 23.8% this season.

Hany Mukhtar has netted 12 goals in 23 games for Nashville this season, and with it facing off against Portland in a game we expect it to win, Mukhtar is a good choice for a goalscorer in that game.

Finally, Lewis Morgan of the Red Bulls has had two+ shots on target in seven of his 22 games this season, meaning he has managed to achieve this feat 31.8% of the time. Against a Rapids team who has won just two of their past 10 games, we expect Morgan to continue to hit the target in this game.

Hany Mukhtar is +340 to score first for Nashville against Portland with FanDuel.

Hardest Game to Call

Montreal +230 at Columbus Crew +105

Montreal has been so up and down this season, that we simply never know what to expect. At the same time, with Columbus Crew turning up the heat in the past month, this game gets even tougher to predict as a result.

Montreal is currently on a three-game unbeaten run since the embarrassing loss to Sporting Kansas City. It's redeemed itself with a 1-0 win over Toronto, a 2-1 victory over D.C. United, and a 0-0 tie with New York City. What's more, Montreal is still third in the Eastern Conference with 36 goals scored and 36 let in, which in itself makes this game tough to call.

Columbus is on the rise, much of which has come down to the latest additions, such as Cucho Hernandez. The Colombian seems to fit like a glove in the MLS, with the former Premier League player scoring four times in four MLS games already.

His form, the recent turnaround from Columbus, and the topsy-turvy nature of Montreal this season, makes this game the hardest to call this week.

A tie in this game is +240 with PointsBet.
