The midweek MLS action returns on Tuesday night, as we have nine games scheduled today and Wednesday. These fixtures could result in major changes to the playoff positions with just a few weeks remaining on the MLS regular season clock.

We’ve put together our betting advice for these midweek games.

Game of the Week

Columbus Crew +195 at Inter Miami +125

Although there is a huge game going down between Atlanta United and Orlando City for a fight in the playoffs, the match between Columbus Crew and Inter Miami could see one side lose their playoff spot and another edge closer into the top seven.

As of now, Columbus is on 41 points and has a three-point gap on New England Revolution. Miami is just five points behind the Crew in the race toward the playoffs and a win here would get it closer to the top seven in the Eastern Conference that it has been all season.

What's more, these two teams met just two weeks ago, making the game even tougher to call. Columbus won 1-0 on a goal from Luis Diaz before going on to tie with Chicago Fire and Montreal shortly after, just as Miami lost to Chicago 3-1.

All of this adds to what is arguably the biggest game of the season for Miami and Columbus in the efforts to get into the playoffs for November.

A 1-1 tie is +550 with DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Bet of the Week

Los Angeles +100 at Minnesota +220

We'll back them whenever Los Angeles is +100 or above to win an MLS game this season. As of now, LAFC has 19 wins in 30 games and a nine-point lead at the top of the Western Conference. Add the excellent transfer window that netted LAFC Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale to an already well-established squad. The club appears to be unstoppable at the top of the Western Conference.

The main reason for the odds being this way is how LAFC lost to Dallas 2-1 in the last game. This isn't the only loss it has faced in the past month, as Austin, San Jose Earthquakes, and Houston Dynamo have all beaten the Black and Gold in this time. On the other hand, they did register a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake.

Minnesota hasn’t exactly been much better. The Loons have lost to Portland Timbers, Dallas and Salt Lake in their last three games, so they have let in a stunning seven goals in three games, scored none, and lost all three.

With this in mind, we’re backing LAFC to get MLS win No. 30 of the season.

LAFC to win 2-0 against Minnesota is +1300 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Players to Watch This Midweek

Carlos Vela and Gareth Bale will be eager to get back amongst the goals when they play against Minnesota. LAFC has only registered one win in its past five games and these two are set to be the main men in helping the Black and Gold get back in the win column, and both Bale and Vela are +370 to score the first goal in the game with FanDuel.

Gonzalo Higuain's form has turned around in the past two months as he has scored seven of the past 17 goals for Miami. This includes a hat-trick in the 4-4 tie with Cincinnati and goals in games against Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and New York Red Bulls. Now, in a vital match against Columbus Crew, he is +400 to score first, +400 to score last, and +170 to score at any point in the game with DraftKings.

Finally, many eyes will be on Sebastian Driussi as he hunts down Hany Mukhtar in the race for the Audi Golden Boot in the MLS with the Austin forward now just two goals behind the Nashville star. Driussi is +500 to score first against Salt Lake on Wednesday and +160 to score in the game.

Hardest Game to Call

LA Galaxy +130 at Vancouver Whitecaps +165

It's been a crazy season for LA Galaxy. It is now on a three-game run of ties, as Toronto, Sporting Kansas City and LA Galaxy have all tied with it, and the last victory for the Galaxy came against New England at the end of August, where Javier Hernandez scored the winning goal once again.

Hernandez is probably still embarrassed after his penalty miss against Kansas City last week, as he failed in his cheeky chipped effort down the middle to win the game and seal his hat-trick in the process.

The Galaxy now meets with Vancouver, who hasn't won a game in its past four efforts since beating Colorado Rapids 2-1. Ironically, just before that game against the Rapids, Vancouver lost 5-2 to Hernandez and Co.

However, a lot has happened since that game, and that 5-2 win for the Galaxy just makes this game tougher to call, but it should give them enough to get the win.

LA Galaxy to win and Vancouver to score is +300 with PointsBet Sportsbook.
