Friday night’s big Bundesliga return is a mouthwatering fixture between two teams who might have expected a little more from their season so far.
Few top-level teams looked as desperately in need of the winter break as Eintracht, while Dortmund finished up for Christmas in second place - albeit nine points shy of Bayern Munich - having won three in four.
Yet, the dynamic might have changed a little since then.
The home side have two attacking reinforcements in Arnaud Kalimuendo (Nottingham Forest) and Bundesliga 2 top scorer Younes Ebnoutalib, from Elversberg.
Add that to a number of defensive absentees for Dortmund, and we could be looking at goals and issues for the visitors.

It was another chastening midweek for Tottenham, who are perilously close to where they finished in the Premier League table last season.
The visit of Aston Villa means they have more to worry about than which mug Thomas Frank is drinking from.
The FA Cup is Spurs’ last realistic hope of a trophy this season, but their rough home form shows little sign of abating, and Cristian Romero’s latest outburst underlines the unrest behind the scenes.
Villa have slowed a little since a comprehensive defeat on their last trip to north London, at Arsenal, but remain strong, and the Cup can be a genuine target for them.

Lille Vs Lyon, Sunday 8pm
These two take a weekend off from fighting for a Champions League place in Ligue 1 to face each other in the pick of the Coupe de France action this weekend.
Maybe a few weeks back, Lille would have been heavy favourites, but the gap between the two has shrunk to two points after LOSC imploded in last week’s home loss to Rennes.
Lyon won at Monaco even without new star Kendrick, who is expected to debut here.
Paulo Fonseca’s side won the Ligue 1 edition of this fixture back in September, but it was one of their more fortunate victories of the season, and they spent most of the last half hour hanging on by their fingernails.
This could end up, given Lille’s strength at home, going all the way.
