AFC Wimbledon Vs Barrow, Saturday 3pm

For this weekend's double, we concentrate on League Two, looking to cash in on two sides with big ambitions for the end of the season.

League Two is the division that seemingly no one wants to win. The top two, Walsall and Bradford, have hit the skids at exactly the wrong time.

Notts County currently lose more often than they win, and Doncaster Rovers have found a way to turn three points into one or none.

With just two wins in seven, some would argue AFC Wimbledon should be added to the naughty list. The Dons must be relieved to see the sides above them wobble, meaning they sit menacingly just six points off the top with nine to play.

However, with two pressure-relieving, confidence-restoring wins in their last three games, boss Johnnie Jackson's side may have turned a corner at exactly the right time.

Enter, poor travellers Barrow, the toothless Cumbrians who, after a hearty start to the season when they were talked about as probable play-off contenders, have tumbled to 17th.

Their minus goal difference is in sharp contrast to the hosts' +23. Aside from a freak 2-1 victory at Notts County's Meadow Lane, they've been poor away from home, taking four points from an available 18 in 2025.

Way back in October, I made the journey to watch them play near neighbours Morecambe in a game they dominated but contrived to lose 1-0 at Holker Street.

The season ticket holder sitting next to me said: "Wait until the end of the season, you'll see. We'll be the lowest scorers in the top 12."

Excellent prediction, except for a manager, and more than half a season later, they're nowhere near the top 12 and are, in fact, the lowest scorers in the top 18 of League Two!

Wimbledon turned Barrow inside out with a 3-1 win in Cumbria back in October.

More of the same is likely at Plough Lane, and at 11/10 with betting apps, it's a home win for me.

Chesterfield Vs Harrogate, Saturday 3pm

Leg two of this weekend's double features another side that could yet experience some end-of-season thrills and spills: step forward, Chesterfield.

Only 12th in the table, but with a game in hand, the Spireites have snapped a losing sequence with three victories on the bounce and could yet grab a play-off spot.

The fixture calendar has been kind, serving up a home clash against strugglers Harrogate Town.

The Spireites will be well aware that five of their seven games in April are at home, so continuing to bridge the gap on those sides above them is vital.

At 8/13 with football betting sites, they are leg two of this weekend's EFL double, a wager that pays a solid 12/5 with William Hill.
