Strictly Come Dancing Odds: All Stars Series Odds-On To Take Place

Strictly Come Dancing has been a Saturday evening staple on our screens since 2004, but the show is yet to air an all-stars series.

Former Strictly pro dancer Ian Waite has called for such a version to take place, and it is 8/11 on betting sites to happen at some point.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Love Island have both aired all-stars versions, and it would make sense for Strictly to follow suit.

Ian recently told the Sunday Mirror: "Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was an all-star version?

"It can be in April or May as a series with all the top dogs like me and Zoe [Ball] and, I don’t know, Brendan and Natasha [Kaplinsky]?"

First Glitterball Winners Set For Return

Following Ian's comments, his fellow former Strictly pro Brendan Cole and TV presenter Natasha Kaplinsky are among the favourites on betting apps to return to the ballroom, should a Strictly all-stars series get off the ground.

Natasha was the first celebrity to win the show's coveted Glitterball Trophy, after she and Brendan danced to Strictly victory in 2004

The first series began in May and ended in July 2004, meaning there was even time to fit in another season in the same year.

Former EastEnders star Jill Halfpenny triumphed in season two, and she is 7/1 to make a star-studded Strictly comeback.

Season two ended in December 2004, and the following Strictly series have followed suit by finishing just before Christmas.

Comedian Chris McCausland - who made history as the show's first-ever blind contestant - is the reigning Glitterball Trophy champion, after he won series 22 last December.

He is 5/2 for a quick return to the dancefloor in an all-stars series, and fellow comedian Bill Bailey - who, like Chris, started Strictly as an underdog before dancing to victory - is a 10/3 shot to book a place on a spin-off of the popular BBC show.

BGT Judge Back In The Ballroom?

However, they are all behind Alesha Dixon in the market.

The Britain's Got Talent judge, who won Strictly series five, is the 6/4 favourite to be among the celebrity contestants returning to the Latin and ballroom programme.

Alesha is the only star competitor to have become a Strictly judge, after she replaced Arlene Phillips on the panel in 2009.

However, she quit the series ahead of 2012's 10th season, after being tempted to the BGT panel by Simon Cowell.

Other former Strictly champions who could be in contention for an all-stars return include former soap stars Rose Ayling-Ellis (15/8) and Kelvin Fletcher (2/1).

Ex-EastEnders actress Rose made Strictly history as the first deaf contestant, and she went on to win 2021's 19th season.

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin triumphed two years earlier - after being a last-minute addition.

He wasn't part of the initial celebrity line-up for the Class of 2019, but when Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing withdrew with an injury, Kelvin's agent received a call.

Kelvin would surely be one of the names at the top of the Strictly bosses' wish list for an all-stars series, as might 3/1 chance Stacey Dooley, who won series 16 alongside Kevin Clifton.

Kev's Comeback

Stacey did not just win the Glitterball Trophy, she also won a long-term partner from the programme.

She hooked up with pro dance partner Kevin on the show - and the pair are still together, and have two-year-old daughter Minnie.

If Stacey returns to the dancefloor, then Kevin may not be far behind.

He is 7/4 favourite to be a returning pro dancer for an all-stars series, followed by 15/8 chance Brendan and 5/2 shot Ian.

Waite recently admitted he is surprised former Strictly pros are not invited back to the main show more often.

He said: "Strictly don’t even bring back pros - apart from Aljaz [Skorjanec]! You don’t find that anywhere else in the world - in America, they come and go, same with Australia.

"I’m sure a lot of the pros would like to have a break!"

Clifton still holds the record for the most final appearances in the show's history, with five, but he only won it once - with Stacey.

Former Strictly pro Oti Mabuse is the only pro dancer to have triumphed in two consecutive finals - with Kelvin and Bill.

She is just 2/1 to return for a Strictly all-stars series, just ahead of one-time pro dancer winners Ola Jordan (3/1), Camilla Dallerup (4/1) and Kevin's sister Joanne Clifton (5/1).
