Both Maine Casinos Post Steady Growth In October
Bangor and Oxford, Maine: Maine’s two commercial casinos continued their upward trajectory in October 2025, with combined revenue climbing 3% year-over-year to $14 million.
The modest but consistent gains at both properties highlight resilient player interest amid a competitive regional gaming landscape, where visitors from New England flock to the Pine Tree State’s slots and table games for entertainment and excitement.
Leading the pack was Oxford Casino Hotel in southern Maine, which generated $8.2 million in revenue, a 0.8% increase from $8.1 million in October 2024.
Slot machines remained the powerhouse, pulling in $7.03 million (up 0.4%), while table games showed stronger momentum with $1.14 million in revenue, a 2.4% rise from the prior year.
The Oxford Casino Hotel, located just over the New Hampshire border, has been a premier gaming destination since 2012, having earned voter approval in 2010.
The venue features nearly 1,000 slot and video poker machines, as well as almost 30 table games, including blackjack, roulette, and craps. Churchill Downs Incorporated owns it.
The casino expanded in 2017 with the opening of a four-story, 107-room hotel equipped with modern amenities, including pull-out sofas, movie and dining options, and electric vehicle chargers.
The OX Pub, located on-site, serves New England favorites. The casino offers smoke-free, non-stop entertainment that works well for day trips or overnight stays.
Nearby attractions include Portland, Freeport, lakes, mountains, and ocean beaches. It also offers Oxford Rewards, a loyalty program that enables guests to earn benefits, including complimentary slot play and dining.
To the north, Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway in Bangor experienced a 6.4% rise in revenue to $5.8M, driven primarily by a 6.8% increase in slot play.
Maine’s first slots location opened in 2005, became a complete casino in 2012, and is owned by Penn Entertainment.
Its gaming options include 800–900 slots, table games, and a poker room.

The hotel features multiple food and beverage outlets, including Hops House 99, as well as 152 rooms, a fitness center, and meeting spaces.
A harness racing track and its related facilities are connected to the hotel, hosting live summer races and offering year-round off-track betting.
The downtown Bangor property, adjacent to the Cross Insurance Center, remains a key entertainment hub enhanced by ongoing promotions and the PENN Play rewards program.
Across the state, slots generated $12.1 million in revenue in October (up 3%), while table games produced $1.9 million (up 2.9%).
