Las Vegas Casinos Offer Canadians "At Par" Discount

A Las Vegas casino owner has launched a Canada-friendly program treating the Canadian dollar “At Par” with the U.S. dollar at his downtown properties.
The goal is to bring Canadian tourists back to the hotel-casinos that Derek Stevens operates on Fremont Street in downtown’s Glitter Gulch. Stevens is CEO of Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas and the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.
Canadians visiting those properties can stretch their dollar, gaining more purchasing power. That’s because, as of March 12, the Canadian/U.S. dollar exchange rate was $0.73.
Under the “At Par” program, Canadian visitors get one dollar in U.S. value for every Canadian dollar spent on qualifying hotel, gaming, beverage and entertainment purchases.
“Simply pay with USD or card and show a valid Canadian passport or government‑issued ID, and your exclusive discount will be applied instantly,” according to a statement on the Circa website.
The “At Par” program began Feb. 6, 2026, and ends August 31, 2026.
Casinos Extend Other Bargains
Canadians are important to tourism in Las Vegas. Between 2019 and 2024, Canadians made up 44% of all global air travelers to the Las Vegas area, according to Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority figures cited by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. However, Canadian visitation in 2025 was down by 20%.
Recent figures indicate Stevens’ “At Par” program is helping reverse that decline.
In the first month of the “At Par” program, Stevens’ properties attracted more than 15,000 Canadian visitors, generating over 2,700 hotel room bookings, the newspaper reported.
"At Par has created real momentum with our Canadian guests right out of the gate,” Stevens said.
Under the “At Par” program, Canadian visitors and locals also will have a chance to purchase tickets at the favorable rate to performances by Canadian disc jockey and producer Excision on April 24-25 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. Stevens is the Events Center's CEO.
Other efforts are underway to attract Canadian visitors. This week, the LVCVA board approved a three-year, $3.5 million program to promote Las Vegas in Canada, according to KLAS-TV.
These aren’t the only programs to bring visitors back to the area from everywhere, not just from Canada. For instance, several hotel-casino in the the Las Vegas Valley are providing discounts to visitors during the upcoming World Cup.
