Pennsylvania State Gambling Revenue Up 14.15% In August

Pennsylvania’s Gaming Control Board has released its monthly gambling revenue figures for August, showing that the state posted $582.3 million in revenue from all forms of gambling, including fantasy contests.
The figure represents the state’s second-highest revenue figure, just short of May’s record of $601.9M.
August’s gambling revenue figures include all forms of gambling from online casinos and offline sources.
The $582.3M monthly revenue represents a 14.5% increase over the same period last year and around 4.5% compared to July 2025 figures.

August saw the state raise $238.5m in tax revenue. Gambling tax is a huge source of income for the state.
In the 2024 fiscal year, the Keystone State generated around $2.4B, thanks to its $6.4B in gross gaming revenue generated in the 12 months.
During the fiscal year, iGaming revenue rose more than 25% compared to 2023, generating 39% of the total.
Penn National Race Course Flying
Most casinos in the state saw annual revenue increases. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course raised the most revenue, bringing in $101.3M, a 15.49% rise compared to 2024.
However, Valley Forge Casino Resort made up ground on the market leader. Its revenue was up 39.32% compared to the year before, reaching $98.7M.
The other casinos that raised more than $50M in revenue were Parx Casino, Rivers Casino Philadelphia, and Wind Creek Bethlehem.
But Presque Isle Downs and Casino posted the biggest annual gains. Its revenue of $14.1m represented an increase of 44.57%.
Several casinos saw dips in revenue. Live! Casino Philadelphia’s revenue fell 10.69% to $24.2M, and a handful of other venues saw figures fall a couple of points.
Slots Top Revenue Share
Slots led the way in terms of gaming revenue share. Retail slots saw $216.6M in revenue, although this only represented a relatively meagre 2.6% increase.
iGaming slots are catching up, posting a 29.6% increase and $179.3M of revenue for the month.
Sports wagering revenue was $49.2M, which was not only up 63.8% compared to the year before but also very close to matching iGaming table game revenue at $49.4M (+14.4 %).
iGaming’s rise continues in 2025. iGaming revenue was $231.2M for the month, up 25.86% compared to August 2024.
Of Pennsylvania’s licensed online casinos, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course generated the highest revenue, raising $85.5 million, while Valley Forge ($67.6 million) and Rivers Casino Phoenix ($36.6 million) were next highest.
The three online casinos saw revenue increase 18.5%, 47.1% and 18.5%, respectively.
Video gaming terminal revenue for the month reached $3.6m, down 2.4% compared to 2024.
The number of machines and total venues remained constant over the two years, but Venture Gaming's significant 94.3% revenue fall was made up for by Jango’s 48.21% increase.
Fantasy contests saw a slight annual increase, up 2.58% to $664,000.
DraftKings generated the majority of this revenue ($514,000), but Underdog Sports ($64,000) and Fantasy Sports Games LLC ($1,600) both more than doubled their revenue compared to 2024.
