West Virginia Will Have Online Poker Later in 2024

The Mountain State recently broke their all-time monthly revenue record in the WV online casino sector, posting more than $16 million, and now, they’ve joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, signaling online poker could soon arrive in the state.

When online poker arrives in the state, West Virginia will offer online casinos, online sports betting, and daily fantasy sports. In joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, they became the fifth state along with Delaware, Michigan, Nevada, and New Jersey.

Before online poker can come to the state, an operator needs to step up to the plate and become the first one to do so.

West Virginia Lottery Executive Director John Myers has said that, after talking to operators, online poker could be available later in 2024.

Online poker coming to the state will only assist a state that drew over $157 million in 2023.

Now, those in West Virginia can bank on online poker coming soon. The promising development will have a positive effect on the players in the state, as they'll have more options when it comes to choosing their favorite online casino games. It's likely that the biggest operators offering poker in other states will come running to West Virginia, especially given that some of them are already established in the state with their online casinos.
