Anthony Joshua Vs Jake Paul Betting Tips: Who Will Win Battle In Miami?

Jake Paul Vs Anthony Joshua Boxing Match Value Bets

The Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight has divided opinion. Not necessarily regarding who is going to win, but whether it should go ahead at all.

We have checked out the best betting sites and picked out three Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua betting tips for what is being billed as Judgement Day.

Jake Paul Vs Anthony Joshua Boxing Tips:

A Step Too Far For Jake Paul?

YouTuber and influencer Jake Paul has made waves in boxing circles.

Paul has a 12-1 record, with seven wins coming by KO, but he has been plagued by accusations of cherry-picking retired fighters well past their prime (Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr) and former MMA champions with little to no boxing experience (Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva).

But you can’t dispute the fact that he pulls in big numbers. More than 100 million live viewers watched his fight against Tyson on Netflix, and he has been credited with helping to promote women’s boxing through his Most Valuable Promotions company.

Despite arguably being one of the biggest names in boxing, thanks in no small part to his nearly 30m Instagram followers, Paul’s fight against Joshua represents a significant step up in class of opponent.

The fight, which is being livestreamed on Netflix, takes place on Friday night in the United States, which means the early hours of Saturday morning for UK viewers.

It is being contested as a professional fight, with eight rounds of three minutes, rather than an exhibition.

Paul will be fighting as a heavyweight again, as he did for the bout with Tyson, and the fighters will be wearing standard 10 oz gloves.

There have been some murmurs of discontent about the size of the ring, but while the 22-by-22-foot ring is bigger than the standard 20-foot ring usually used, it is still a sanctioned dimension.

Huge Expectations On Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua goes into the fight as the clear favourite. The two-time former world heavyweight champion is still an active fighter.

Most recently, he fought Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September 2024, when the Brit suffered the second knockout loss of his career

He still has aspirations of becoming a three-time world champion, so while his stock might not be as high as it was when he beat Wladimir Klitschko by knockout in 2017, he represents a very different challenge to Paul’s previous fights.

Despite Paul’s critics pointing to the poor quality of his previous opponents, he is a best-priced 8/1 on betting apps to win the fight. Considering the apparent difference in quality, bigger odds may have been expected. Punters looking for value, then, need to look elsewhere.

Joshua To Land Two Or More Knockdowns

Joshua is five inches taller than 6ft1in Jake Paul. He also has a reach of 82 inches compared to Paul’s 76. It is going to be very difficult for Paul to knock Joshua down.

But in the fight against Tyson, he showed he can get back up when he hits the canvas himself.

While the price on Joshua winning by knockout is slim, Bet365 is offering Evens on him scoring two or more knockdowns during the fight.

Joshua To Win In Rounds Three Or Four

While some professional fighters and big names in the sport have predicted an upset, most point to an easy win for the Olympic gold medallist. And Joshua himself has said people are expecting an early win.

The bookmakers certainly agree. A round-one knockout for Joshua is the likeliest outcome at 15/4 with Bet365.

It is very difficult to see any result other than a knockout for Joshua. Historically, he has preferred a more calculated fight plan, though, and considering his loss to Dubois came after a more gung-ho approach, he may revert to kind in this bout.

With odds of 11/4, a bet on Joshua winning in rounds three or four looks to offer decent value while affording him the chance to grow into the fight.

Paul Vs Joshua Tip 2: Joshua To Win In Rounds 3 Or 4 - 11/4 With Bet365

Jake Paul To Throw More Punches Than Joshua

Other than the fight against Dubois, Joshua typically prefers quality over quantity when it comes to landing hits.

In contrast, Paul’s showman-like style, coupled with his relative inexperience, means he throws a lot more punches.

His land-rate isn’t great, and because Paul prefers to put on a show rather than go for a knockout, Joshua will likely soak up a lot of punches, especially early on.

Odds of 13/8 on Paul throwing more punches than Joshua looks a good bet. Note, though, Paul’s wild style means it’s important to bet on punches thrown and not punches landed.

Paul Vs Joshua Tip 3: Paul To Throw More Punches Than Joshua - 13/8 With Bet365
