How Many Majors Will Rory McIlroy Win In 2025 After US Masters Success?

Rory McIlroy became only the sixth player to complete the career grand slam when he won the US Masters for his third title of the season, but what are the chance of more major success this year?
McIlroy joined Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tiger Woods with his play-off victory against Justin Rose at Augusta and betting sites have been updating their odds on him winning a few more major titles over the next few months.
The 35-year-old Northern Irishman is the joint favourite to win the USPGA Championship and The Open, and is just behind Scottie Scheffler for the US Open in June.
Here, Gambling.com checks out the latest odds on how many majors McIlroy will win in 2025 and some of the other markets on the five-time major champion.
USPGA Championship: Quail Hollow (May 15-18)
There is a very good reason McIlroy is the 5/1 co-favourite on golf betting sites with world number one Scheffler to win the USPGA Championship.
Not only did he win this major in 2012 and 2014, his record at the course hosting this year’s renewal is sensational.
Almost 12 months ago, McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow for a fourth time, beating Xander Schauffele by five shots, with the next nearest rival nine behind.
The course in Charlotte, North Carolina, was also the venue for his first PGA Tour title in 2010.
He subsequently won here again in 2015 and then four years ago when he said he “fell in love with Quail Hollow the first time I played it and knew it was special”.
In 2024, he repeated his love for the track where he broke the course record in 2015 with a 10-under-par 61.
McIlroy is 15/8 with Ladbrokes to win at least two majors in 2025, but could he do even better?
US Open: Oakmont Country Club (June 12-15)
McIlroy’s sole US Open triumph came at Congressional in 2011, when he won by an impressive eight shots over Jason Day in a wire-to-wire victory.
The next seven years were lean, aside from ninth place at Chambers Bay 10 years ago, but his last six US Open appearances have all yielded top-10 finishes.
McIlroy was runner-up at Los Angeles and Pinehurst in 2023 and 2024, finishing a shot behind Wyndham Clark and Bryson DeChambeau respectively, so the omens are looking good for another major title tilt.

On the negative side, McIlroy has missed the cut five times at the US Open – the most of any of the four majors – including the last time Oakmont hosted the tournament in 2016 when Dustin Johnson finally ended his major drought.
Despite failing to make the weekend, McIlroy said: “I actually thought I played really well, except I let four or five par putts kind of slide and all of a sudden I’d be two over and right in trouble.
“You can’t do that here because you don’t have those birdie opportunities to offset those mistakes. I didn’t have very many birdie opportunities.
“My irons don’t feel bad but they’re just a fraction off. Instead of hitting it to 15 feet, giving myself chances, I’m 30ft, 40ft and fighting just to make par.”
But that was then and now only Collin Morikawa has better tee-to-green stats than McIlroy in 2025 and he also tops the Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee metrics.
McIlroy is 6/1 to add a second US Open title to his name, just behind world number one Scheffler (5/1) and he can also be backed at 14/1 with Ladbrokes to win at least three majors this year.
The Open Championship: Royal Portrush (July 17-20)
McIlroy does not have fond memories of the last time The Open paid a visit to Portrush in his native Northern Ireland six years ago when he spoiled the party by missing the cut.
He went into the tournament with high hopes of winning on home soil in front of a fervent crowd, but was up against it from the start with a quadruple bogey on the first hole en route to an opening-round 79.
Remarkably, McIlroy posted a 65 on the Friday and only missed out on the weekend by one shot, so he will be keen to make amends with support cranked up to the max.
McIlroy actually broke the course record with a 61 as a 16-year-old, so he knows how to play well on the Dunluce links and he is the 6/1 co-favourite with betting apps to get the job done.
Ladbrokes makes McIlroy 80/1 to win all four majors in 2025 – something only Bobby Jones achieved in 1930, although back then the US Amateur and Amateur Championship were both counted as majors.
