His big serve allows him to get routine holds and put himself in a position to steal a set in a tiebreak. It's why it makes it so difficult to defeat him in straight sets. We also doubt Hurkacz has the form to defeat Tsitsipas in straight sets considering how Tsitsipas has dominated their matchups.
Of Tsitsipas' seven wins over Hurkacz, only two of those came in straight sets with Hurkacz winning at least a set in the other five matches. Hurkacz has already won a set off of Alcaraz in Toronto, so he has the level and form to contend with the top players.
