Our Yankees vs. Tigers prediction targets the final game of this four-game series. The Yankees are sending Clarke Schmidt to the hill against Tigers’ starter Matt Manning. New York won their Wednesday matchup 6-2 with Gerrit Cole on the mound.
Before diving into MLB player props, we’ll look at the moneyline here.
Schmidt is 8-8 with a 4.51 ERA through 26 starts with an 8.7 K/9 rate. Manning, through 13 starts, is 5-4 with a 3.93 ERA and has allowed just three runs over his last three starts. Schmidt has allowed just three runs over his previous two starts, but if you go back one more, he allowed eight earned to the Atlanta Braves, a much more potent offense.

Above, we took the Tigers moneyline for one of our best bets today, and here, we’re targeting the starting pitcher for the Yankees who should help make that possible.
We stated that Schmidt has an 8.7 K/9. The Tigers also strike out more than nine times per game.
However, Schmidt’s over/under line here is 5.5, which might seem doable here, but it’s not something he often does.
This season, Schmidt has had six or more strikeouts in a game nine times and four times since July 4.
The Tigers will be sporting a mostly left-handed lineup, which is what Schmidt struggles against, allowing a batting north of .300.

A battle of the NL East, we’ll assess some MLB player props for this Nationals vs. Marlins prediction.
Here, we’ll dive into Nationals starter Joan Adon, who played better in his last outing and came against the Marlins. He tossed six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out three.
His strikeout line here is 4.5, which, unfortunately, doesn’t seem realistic.
Adon has a mere 7.5 K/9 and has exactly three strikeouts in each of his last three starts.
The Marlins recently saw him, too, so their offense could be a bit sharper here. Adon will probably be around the three mark again here, but 4.5 is too steep.

For the day's final game, we’ll be making a Dodgers vs. Braves prediction. Here, we’ll see the Braves send Spencer Strider to the mound, a player who leads the league in strikeouts with 236 and has pitched lights out lately.
However, as we know with Strider, he tends to have some games where he lets it get away from him more than we’d like, especially in a game with the two best offenses in baseball, each scoring north of 5.5 runs per game.
The Dodgers strikeout 8.39 times per game, and that average is lowered to eight exactly at home.
Strider has started just one game against the Dodgers this season in May, where he had 11 strikeouts, allowing just two runs.
His over/under line here is 7.5, and, unlike other pitchers, the over is where there’s less value.
Over his last five starts, he’s had two games where he’s fallen short of that 7.5 mark, throwing three against the Pittsburgh Pirates and six against the New York Mets.
