Two of last year’s top offensive performers will be featured when CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys visit Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants on Sunday night in New Jersey.

In 2022, the Dallas Cowboys posted a 12-5 record but finished two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East standings. They secured a playoff spot and clinched a single victory before being eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers for the second consecutive year.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants faced two narrow defeats at the hands of Dallas last season, with both games being decided by just one possession. Despite these losses, the Giants had an overall record of 9-7-1 and made their first playoff appearance since 2016, losing only five other regular-season games.

So who will come out on top in the first Sunday night game of the new NFL eason? We'll try and answer that question and more in our Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Prediction.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants NFL Week 1 Predictions

Last season, the Giants defied expectations by finishing with a 9-7-1 record and securing their first playoff win in several years.

The transformation was largely attributed to new head coach Brian Daboll and quarterback Daniel Jones, who had his most impressive statistical year, demonstrating his potential as a dual-threat player.

However, the element of surprise might be harder to maintain this year. Aside from acquiring the often-injured tight end Darren Waller, the Giants made no significant additions to their offensive arsenal, which already lacked speed on the outside.

Waller is expected to be versatile in his role, sometimes lining up as a receiver, given the Giants' tendency to opt for slot receivers.

His performance will be crucial in determining the Giants' offensive success, particularly against a Cowboys linebacker unit that had its struggles last season and will need to be more cohesive in 2023.

For the Giants to win, they'll need to neutralize the Cowboys' potent receiving core. CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks present a challenging task for cornerbacks, making this a crucial first test for the Giants' rookie Deonte Banks.

The first-round draft pick is undoubtedly talented but can expect to have his hands full in this matchup.

Giants vs Cowboys Under 46.5 (-110) at BetMGM

As previously noted, divisional contests often evolve into hard-fought, back-and-forth battles. Based on this pattern, this game is likely to feature fewer total points than anticipated.

Last year, the over-under of 46.5 split the difference at 1-1 between these two teams. Notably, the game that exceeded the point total took place at AT&T Stadium, where the Cowboys generally perform better.

However, with the upcoming match at MetLife Stadium, both teams are likely to focus more on their running games. Therefore, expect the total score to come in under 47.

Cowboys -3 (-120) at Draftkings

It's difficult to envision a scenario where the Cowboys don't enter this game brimming with confidence, poised to dominate Jones and the Giants on their home turf.

The sheer offensive prowess of the Cowboys appears overwhelming for Daboll's defensive strategies, making the -3 on the Moneyline an appealing bet.

Giants Under 21.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel

Last season, the Giants scored fewer than 22 points in 10 of their 17 regular-season games, which makes this particular wager a positive expected value (plus-EV) bet for us.

Further supporting this, in their last ten matchups against the Cowboys, the Giants have exceeded 22 points only three times.

The Cowboys have a track record of performing well against the Giants, and there's little reason to expect a different outcome this time.
