NFL Live Action Returns This Month
This month, NFL action gets underway with the first preseason game of the year.
On July 31, the Detroit Lions play host to the Los Angeles Chargers in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The game launches the league’s 106th season. Before kickoff, Antonio Gates, Eric Allen, Jared Allen, and Sterling Sharpe will be introduced as the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
“This game features two teams that can be considered legitimate contenders to reach Super Bowl LX next February,” Jim Porter, president & CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said on profootballhof.com. “For them to face each other right out of the gate in Canton, Ohio, should create a dynamic opening to another spectacular NFL season.”

The 2025-'26 NFL regular season begins Thursday, Sept. 4, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, where the hometown Eagles, last season's Super Bowl winner, take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East matchup. The league’s other 31 teams will begin play that weekend.
The regular season concludes with Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
