2023 Women’s World Cup: U.S. Odds to Win

Can the U.S. Win another Women's World Cup title?

This week, the USWNT will get its group campaign at the 2023 Women's World Cup off and running with a match against Vietnam, as they begin their quest to win a third straight Women's World Cup title.

It will also be aiming to win its fifth overall title as the Amerians once again comes into the World Cup as the favorite to win the crown.

Ahead of its first game this week, we take a look at the best bets and look ahead to the USA’s World Cup campaign.

The U.S. to win the World Cup is +225 at BetMGM Sportsbook

Women's World Cup: U.S. Best Bet, To Reach the Final (+125)

After winning the title in 2019,the USWNT has now won the past two World Cups after success in Canada in 2015. It also made it to the final in the 2011 edition in Germany and finished third in China in 2007.

It also finished third in 2003 on home soil, four years after winning the World Cup for the second time in 1999. Simply put, for the past 25 years, the Americans have never finished worse than third at a World Cup.

What Teams Could Knock off Team USA?

The U.S. will have a tough test in winning the World Cup this year, though. England is getting a lot of attention after its excellent triumph at the European Championship last summer.

Stars like Rachel Daly, Alessia Russo and Beth England make up a great squad for England, and a lot of analysts are predicting it could win the tournament at +240.

With this in mind, we’re playing it a bit safer and predicting that the U.S., at the very least, gets to the final of the 2023 Women’s World Cup for our best bet.

England is +400 to win the World Cup at PointsBet Sportsbook

Germany is +800 to win the World Cup at PointsBet Sportsbook

Women's World Cup Prediction

At odds of -310 to win Group E, the U.S. should sail through its group campaign. Its only concern will be the Netherlands, which comes in after losing a close one to Germany (another team to watch) in April and wins against Poland and Belgium.

Portugal and Vietnam are also in the Americans' group and shouldn't put up much of a fight.

You can also find odds of +300 for the USWNT to be eliminated in the quarterfinals and +500 to be the runner-up. However, we expect the Americans to win the World Cup in what will be its fifth time winning the tournament.

There are too many star players for us to not back them. Sophia Smith has been sensational in the NWSL this year with 10 goals in 13 games for Portland Thorns, while Naomi Girma in defense will no doubt be one of the tournament's key defensive players.

Combine this with the experience of other defensive players like Kelley O'Hara and Crystal Dunn and the U.S. will also boast of arguably the best defense this summer.

Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe are also still with the team and bring to the table a combined record of 184 goals for their country.

The U.S. has combined experience with young stars on the rise this summer, and we can’t see how anyone, even England and Germany, dethrones it.
