Marquette vs. Illinois College Basketball Prediction & Odds

NCAA Best Bet Today #1: ⭐ Kam Jones Over 18.5 Points (-105) at FanDuel

Kam Jones is Marquette's leading scorer through two games. The junior guard is averaging 21.5 points per contest after scoring 20 in the season-opening win over Northern Illinois before putting up 23 against Rider.

We like Kam Jones Over 18.5 Points (-105) at FanDuel for Tuesday's matchup with Illinois. Jones has blossomed in the more expanded role. His 21.5 points per game average is over six more than from a year ago.

But what's even more encouraging about Jones' early scoring output is how efficient he has been.  Jones has made 56% of his shots, including a 4 for 8 mark from 3-point range. Illinois will be the best team Jones has faced, but his efficiency and scoring output have been too strong for us to consider anything other than an over on his point prop.

Betting Pick: Kam Jones Over 18.5 Points (-105) at FanDuel

NCAA Best Bet Today #2: ⭐ Terrence Shannon Jr. Over 16.5 Points (-115) at BetMGM

Terrence Shannon Jr. is in his second year with the Illini after spending three seasons at Texas Tech. Shannon Jr. was one of the top scorers last season, averaging 17.2 points per game. He's been solid once again in the early start to the season, averaging 15.5 points through Illinois' 2-0 start.

We like Terrence Shannon Jr. Over 16.5 Points (-115) at BetMGM. Shannon Jr. has hit at a high rate from the field to start the season, making 46% of his shots and connecting on 38% of his attempts from 3-point range.

Shannon Jr. should also see extended minutes on the court in what sets up to be a close contest with Marquette. He played just 26 minutes in the 80-52 blowout win over Eastern Illinois but had to go 37 minutes in what was a closer-than-expected 64-53 win over Oakland. We should see Shannon Jr. be close to 40 minutes once again tonight against Marquette, which provides plenty of value on the over on his player points prop.

Betting Pick: Terrence Shannon Jr. Over 16.5 Points (-115) at BetMGM

NCAA Best Bet Today #3: ⭐ Dain Dainja Over 5.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM

Dain Dainja has been a reliable big for Illinois, and we're going to look to target him in the rebounding player prop market. Through two games, Dainja is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game which is more than his 5.5 from a season ago.

We like Dain Dainja Over 5.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM. Dainja had six rebounds in the win over Eastern Illinois and recorded seven more versus Oakland. What's even more impressive with Dainja's rebounding numbers is how he has done it in a limited amount of time. He had six in just 12 minutes against Eastern Illinois and added the seven rebounds after playing just 19 minutes against Oakland.

Dainja is averaging just 15.5 minutes per contest, which is down from his 20.6 a year ago. We expect that number to climb tonight against a competitive Marquette group, and with Dainja on the court more, his rebounding numbers should continue to climb.

Betting Pick: Dain Dainja Over 5.5 Rebounds (-110) at BetMGM
